They were completely out of all of the noodles when I went this weekend. I am sad! Critical , did you go on your shopping trip? What did you get? I've still got a week left of my two weeks after my second shot. I think I'll be going some time next week. I'm definitely glad I have $100 worth of gift cards because I'll be spending ALL of it and more!

Alas, my freezer is far too full to make room for a TJ's trip, especially when I haven't been there in so long! I'm forcing myself to eat only frozen food for the next little while, so I can clear out space! I'll be wanting a bunch of TJ's Indian food and at least 3 boxes of the chicken soup dumplings! Oh, and turkey burgers and the Tarte D'Alsace and the Guilt-Free Mac and Cheese and.....

Went to Trader Joes over the weekend and the Fall stuff is here! I got all of my old favorites; the Autumn soup, the Autumn pasta sauce, the pumpkin flavored pumpkin seeds, the pumpkin ice cream cones, and other items. They also have the Fall candles for those who need them!

They seem to have gotten rid of the Pea Protein Powder for smoothies, which really, really sucks. The do sell the hemp powder but you pay more for less product.

I bought a new item I hadn't seen before called Holiday Vegetable Hash in the produce section and used it to make some yummy soup. It was chopped celery, onions, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and herbs. It was so nice to have all of the veggies pre-chopped. I just browned some sausage, sauteed the veggies, added a can of fire roasted tomatoes, some spices, chickpeas, and vegetable broth, and voila! Soup! P.S. This is the soup recipe I based it on. www.yummly.com/recipe/Moosewood_s-Gypsy-Soup-9062041

You know what? It's cold here and that sounds good. Next time I go to Trader Joes I'm going to pick this up along with the other ingredients and make a pot.

If you want to add sausage (which isn't part of the original vegetarian recipe), I used the chicken breakfast sausage, but any sausage would probably work just fine. (I took it out of the casing and browned it in oil before adding the other ingredients.)

Went to Trader Joes the other day and they are definitely experiencing supply chain issues. There were a lot of things I normally buy that weren't there; either people are beginning to hoard again or shipments aren't coming on time.

I found myself in the neighborhood of one of my Trader Joe's today AND I had some gift cards burning a hole in my wallet, so I went to TJ's for the first time since last December (and, really, that was a work trip, so I only bought enough food for two days). Before that, I don't think I'd set foot in a TJ's since before the pandemic. You could tell because I kept backtracking to get things because I couldn't remember where everything was! THey do move stuff around, but I was still running back and forth.
I don't know if it's new, but the blood orange herbal tea (rooibos) is amazing! I'm drinking a cup right now. I added a little sugar and creamer and it tastes a bit like a creamsicle.
The new candle for the summer is peach black tea, so you know I bought that! I also, of course, had to stock up on chicken soup dumplings and I got my very favorite TJ's thing ever, the Tarte D'Alsace, which is dinner tonight. I got some of the pork spring rolls to try in my air fryer. Oh, and some of their Gravenstein applesauce, which is SO much better than the grocery store brands.
I could have bought A LOT more, but I'm still battling my acid reflux (so that meant no Indian food ) and I'm trying to not stuff my freezer to the gills. I hate that feeling when I come home from a grocery trip, open my freezer and think, "Oh crap, where is all of this going to go?"

The Tarte d'Alsace is so yummy! I hope you enjoyed it! And I know exactly what you mean about dealing with a too full freezer. I'm there right now. UGH!!!

I didn't know Trader Joe's had tamales!! I went there recently to get frozen appetizers to have as lunch options during the week and when I saw they had tamales, I got a pack of beef and a pack of chicken to try out. I just had the beef tamales last night, steamed in my rice cooker and served with enchilada sauce, shredded white cheddar, and sour cream. They were wonderful so I will definitely get more.

Run, don't walk to your local Trader Joes to get the Horchata icecream. In fact, get two pints; your taste buds will thank you!

Their pizza dough is very good. I was sad to see it not in the store the last time I went.

IIRC, it was a checker at TJ's who told me about the ice cream taste test that some magazine/website did with a bunch of different brands. I think it was just with vanilla. TJ's came in second place only to Haagen Dazs. Pretty good!

I’m out of town for work and my hotel is a block or two from a TJ’s. Considering my dental issues / food restrictions, it was definitely a challenge to find things I could eat! I’m glad I packed some soup and instant mashed potatoes! I’m going to try the cheese and chile tamales later.
I don’t have any matches or a lighter, so I can’t burn it until I get home, but OMG, the new chocolate croissant candle smells incredible!

I just got back from Trader Joes and guess what I bought? I didn't go just for the candle though. I also picked up Peppermint Joe Joes, a salad, gingerbread ice cream, and a weird bag of popcorn nut mix with caramel, I think it's some sort of Holiday concoction? Yum!

I didn't look at the ice cream when I was an TJ's because hotels have notoriously weak freezers and I didn't want to have to eat the whole container in one go, but you talking about Joe Joe's made me wonder if they're still making the ice cream. IIRC, it was the peppermint Joe Joe's and cream and it was delicious! How's the gingerbread ice cream?
The cheese and chile tamales were pretty good, BTW. A little sweeter than I expected, but good.

Just got back from my trip to TJ’s. That Chocolate croissant candle smells divine! The Cedar Balsam one is nice, too! My holiday indulgence purchase was the Mint Cocoa Truffles. Can’t wait to try one!
EDITED TO ADD: When I first tried the truffles, they were underwhelming. Not very flavorful. 😟 But I tried then again just now when they were at “melt in your mouth” room temperature, and they were yummy. I guess that’s one of the problems of trying them right after bringing them in from the cold.
I need to go back out and see if they have the Stroopwafel again this year. I love those!

Can’t wait to try one! I was really surprised by that candle! A lot of times, when something is chocolate-scented, it doesn't actually smell like chocolate. I haven't burned mine yet, but I think I'll get it out and light it up!
