I don't know what to think of that. If they want celebs why can't they throw them into the regular show for a week and be done like Jeopardy does?

It sounds more like something the network wanted and requested, as opposed to the idea coming from the show.
I'm not sure what adding celebs does for the game, other than slowing it down. And they risk looking like dopes if they can't navigate such a simple game.

I never watched 'Supermarket Sweep' before, but I'm loving it. I love Leslie Jones, so turned in for her. I am really enjoying it. I do wish they would walk us through how it works, do they walk the contestants through the store? How do they know to go for items like the big cheese and the turkey? Are these expensive in real life or just the show? How much are they supposed to be?
I feel that Leslie is really genuine with her excitement. I just love her.

From what I could tell, the contestants do not get an aisle tour, which keeps them racing to find items. It is easy to spot the inflatables, but you need to have basic knowledge of how stores congregate items to get to them quickly.
I'm enjoying this one.
This one has four of my favorite people - Jeopardy winners and Sara (the go to at ABC mornings). I'll be watching while I didn't last year because it looked too dark.

Oh, then I would be a mess at Supermarket Sweep, I can't even find things in my local store that I've been going to for 11 years. I've always wanted color-coded aisles. The white aisles: marshmallows, toilet paper, vanilla ice-cream, Red aisle: Hot dogs, ketchup, glade cinnamon candles....

I'm excited for The Chase as well. I still watch reruns of the previous version on GSN with Brooke Burns and "The Beast". Fun fact: James Holzhauer was a contestant on The Chase before he went on Jeopardy, and won a lot of money for his team on that show as well.

As I hoped, there will be rotating hosts when Jeopardy resumes production. There's no need to rush into a permanent replacement right away...
ALSO, Jeopardy! will air 10 of Trebek’s best episodes during the weeks of December 21 and December 28, with the last week of episodes that Trebek shot before his death now set to air the week of January 4. They had been planned to air during the week leading up to Christmas Day, but were shifted to avoid holiday-season pre-emptions.
The first week of guest-hosted shows featuring Jennings will air the week of January 11.

I KNEW Ken Jennings would somehow be involved in hosting. I wonder if they will bring back Brad and James to tryout in the months following Ken.
The guest hosts should carry them through the spring...then what?

I don't care if they take a year with rotating hosts -- I'm in no hurry to settle on one person yet. I want this choice to be right.
Just the thought of tuning in every day to someone I don't like gives me nightmares.

Dane Cook has said he’s been asked to be a guest host. That I don’t look forward to. I’d like to see Brad. A lot of people have been recommending Levar Burton which I’d be ok seeing. I don’t want it to be Anderson Cooper.

Dane Cook? Here come my nightmares... LeVar Burton is my current favorite of all the names being tossed around. Ken Jennings is okay, but I feel like his personality makes him a better panelist or contestant than a host who has to carry the whole show.

Here are some upcoming game show premieres:
The Wall starts a new round of episodes Monday, Jan. 4th at 10PM ET on NBC.
Name That Tune with host Jane Krakowski begins Wed. Jan. 6th at 9PM ET on Fox.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune starts a short run Thursday, Jan. 7th at 8PM ET on ABC.
The Chase premieres right after Celeb Wheel at 9PM on ABC. "Each episode sees three contestants face off against The Chaser, hoping to bring as much money as they can back to the team’s bank. If any team member gets caught, they leave with nothing. The surviving players compete against The Chaser one final time in The Final Chase where they stand to split the bank evenly. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are on the line if they can outrun The Chaser. The new Chasers are Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter, and James Holzhauer. Sara Haines hosts."
The Hustler with Craig Ferguson rounds out ABC's new Thursday game show night at 10PM. "Each episode sees five contestants collaborate to answer trivia questions worth $10,000 each. The catch? One of them is The Hustler and already knows all the answers but must keep their identity a secret. Throughout the episode The Hustler can secretly eliminate two contestants, leaving just The Hustler and two honest contestants. The final three must collectively decide who they think The Hustler is. I'm now locked into ABC Thursday night game shows. The Hustler is silly, but I love the set decoration; The Chase is (to me) weird that we only see one Chaser per episode. Of course, I love Sarah Haines - she did a good job talking fast, but clearly. What fun the Celebrity Wheel of Fortune! Did you know that Tony Hawke is 51 years old? He was a silent assassin. Jones was, as usual, loud and hysterically funny and the "nurse" from Grey's Anatomy was adorable. Wish they could be the contestants every week.
