People in Bucktown HATE them. Apparently they would start/end work way earlier/later than what is legally allowed here. Also, they would drop construction trash from their work sites into the neighboring yards and not clean it up. It's a mess.

My mom is an HGTV addict along with my sister. As my mom got her involved in it. As my sister is building a new house and downsizing now that her kids flown the couple to start their own families and careers. Getting some hints over HGTV!

Good Bones - I hated that the façade of the little cottage collapsed, it had a quirky look and I wanted to see what they could do with it. But, the new build they ended up doing was really nice. Simple but cute kitchen and the laundry/mud room was a neat addition. The only thing I didn't like was that neither bathroom had a tub. Christina on the Coast - eh, at least it wasn't all white shaker cabinets again. It was a bit bland for me but I guess the homeowners wanted it that way. If they cut out all the moaning about how stressed Christina is as she gets her makeup done professionally and gets acupuncture and goes for a hike, they could have done the show in 30 minutes...

When Allison Victoria comes on my tv I turn her. She is one of the most blatantly arrogant people I have ever seen.

THANKS Kao Off to set the DVR!!! Should be an interesting Season!!! I watched every minute of the last season and although I obviously found it compelling, I also thought of the show as stressful and even depressing to watch. Most likely I'll watch it again.

Brother vs. Brother is coming back on September 9th, and this year the competition will be in L.A.. The Property Brothers side shows (B vs B, Drew's Honeymoon House and Property Brothers at Home) allow them to do more colorful, creative work than what they do on their main show so it should be fun!

Christina's first design option was white cabinets, white counters, white backsplash, and mainly white terazo flooring. I was really wowed by her insightful and awe inspiring and massively creative design option that would have started a new trend. The lack of texture was incredible as was the total lack of color which of course would all mesh into one big white blob. Does the world not understand what a creative genius this women is? When Christina and her friend Cassie where on their hike and thrilling viewers with their highly self centered, and narcissistic conversation they actually noticed a rattlesnake and scared off the poor thing with their incredibly high decibeled shrieking. Thankfully the snake got away safely. With much sadness there is only one more episode left to air this season.

Personally, I hate them; super hard to keep clean and sterile.

So sad that this season of Good Bones is over already. They did a pretty new build last night - I don't love the garage-forward style of house but they had no choice with that lot. Nice kitchen with fancy appliances, beautiful bathroom, and the mural in the nursery was pretty neat.
I guess next week they inflict Alison on us instead. Bleah.

Karen made me laugh last night when she had her fav rooster out with a leash to walk him.
I loved the baby's room last night on Good Bones. I really hate it when people color code rooms to the bb's sex and this one was delightfully neutral. That mural was beautiful, and I loved all the old school toys and books and comfty chair. I also liked the fact that the buyers seemed absolutely delighted with the whole house.

I can't help but like Audrey; she's such a glittery magpie of a designer, which fits really well with the Vegas aesthetic. She and her husband work very well together as a team too.

Good Bones Season 5 Episode 13 - "The Cottage Catastrophe" - September 1, 2020 I have always liked that the ladies want to restore the neighborhood and not just flip homes.
Cute home, so sad that is collapsed. Very surprising as so many times it did not happen over the previous seasons.
Clean and crisp, open plan but with interesting corners. The main floor has amazing natural light.
Luv the carrara marble tile in the master shower. Simple effective and looks so good and so classic.
Consistent with the wicker component with all the lighting.

Good Bones Season 5 Episode 14 - "The Gloriously Glam House" - September 8, 2020 - season finale Nice to see a new build and a front facing garage. I do like on this show they do go into some of the legal issues such as easements and how it affects the build. Luck for them that Karen is a lawyer. You get the impression that the builds are all up to code. This show does not seem battered by lawsuits like Windy City Rehab or the long departed Kitchen Cousins.
Luv'ed the kitchen appliance package.
Was surprised at the flipping of having bedrooms and a den on the main floor and the kitchen, dining, and living areas on the second floor.
Liked that they used some of the buyers own furniture in the staging.
Luv'ed the pop of blue in the garage door and front door. Nice color but they do not overdo.
Liked the ombre staircase.
The house has zoned AC, how nice.
Ends with a gender reveal Easter Egg being dropped but they did not show the results.

I've seen that a lot with European housing, particularly in Amsterdam where the buildings are tall and narrow in the older districts.

I found out about this a few weeks ago and rewatched the episode where they rehab a duplex for Stefanie. There isn't any news about cause of death. It's very sad, especially after seeing her in a few shows.

Oh no, I hadn't heard about her sister-in-law. I remember the episode where she bought the house from them...so sad. When I rewatched that episode I got the impressions that they wanted her to live there as long as she liked but that she was renting it or that they planned to use it as a rental? The rehab was in a neighborhood that was just beginning to get fixed up so they looked at this duplex as an investment. The neighboring place had a long term lease so they only fixed up the outside of the building and the one side for Stephanie. Her side was a 700 square foot 1 bedroom 1 bath with a garage. Throughout the episode Stefanie and Mina mentioned how much Stefanie likes her privacy with her two dogs. They started the episode at a pet shop that had dog biscuits that the dogs ate right in the shop. They split the front porch by adding a partition in the middle right up to the newly vaulted ceiling.

Christina on the Coast season finale was on tonight. I must admit I was flabbergasted as I liked the final look of the kitchen and bathroom. What I really want to know is how a $100,000 budget ballooned up to $160,000? You can't tell me the widows and the bathroom could not have been included in the original budget.
The white tile with black and gold the homeowners originally picked for the art wall was $340 per sq foot or in this case per tile was hideous.
I did like the gold faucet and handles as well as the walnut slab cabinets.
But seriously the budget was ridiculous.
The gold tile stripes in the bathroom turned out better then how Christina described it.

Christina on the Coast - that house was stunning...then they showed the raggedy kitchen and bathroom, and I thought we were in another house. I really liked how it turned out, the walnut cabinets and gold hardware looked great. The bathroom vanity looked much better with a new coat of stain and solid top. The gold stripes in the shower were okay, but I'm not a fan of all tiny mosaic tiles in a shower anyway. All I can think of is all those little grout lines to clean... Whoever thought that awful looking tile was worth $340 a square foot is smoking some good stuff.

I watched BRother versus Brother last night and was a bit disappointed. I think they changed the format of the show. Each week they do different houses? And they have teams make the decisions about how to add the most value? Last night they did two starter homes. I thought the results were mediocre. One guy painted the kitchen a hideous green color, it made me nauseous.

One guy painted the kitchen a hideous green color, it made me nauseous. I think you watched the wrong one, woodielog. They are doing the same house for the duration but different areas of the house each week. This time, they are in L.A. in Drew's neighborhood (the historic Hancock Park), where they managed to find two lovely (but rundown to damn) vintage houses that they paid like 2.25 mil for each because they were in such disrepair. With that said, both houses had gorgeous vintage details...especially Drew's.
They were assigned the foyer and living room last night. One of the brothers (forgot who) had a bigger house so they did the foyer, living room and sitting room. In Drew's house he had a muralist retouch the beautiful artwork that was on the beams and added a fireplace and new floors while Jonathan created barrel vaulted ceilings for his foyer, and replaced the raggedy fireplace with a gorgeous, Spanish style one. They had the guy from the new show where he helps redesign people's houses who have experienced big changes in their lives be the judge this week. I won't say which brother won but he had the better, lighter look of the two.
If you can, definitely find and watch it. Here's some pics.

I watched the last episode of Good Bones season 5 again and noticed at the very end were they do part of the gender reveal I think that one of that ladies in the circle is Stephanie Hawk, Mina's sister-in-law that died in March.
Baby Charlie is due September 16 2020. Only a couple of days more.
