Another trashbag man in court toting around a bible and a tradwife GF to show their "innocence." I'm mad Jonathan Majors turned out to be such a piece of [censored], mad that the victim is getting harassed by his fans, and especially mad a Meghan Good who got with him after his arrest. What is UP with women who feel like as long as a guy is handsome/has money/influence it's fine that they abused others, as long as they don't do it to you? It's honestly disgusting. There's been whispers about him being abusive dating back to his Yale years and Lovecraft Country not getting a second season because of how he treated people on set so none of this is surprising, sadly.
I really hope his victim receives some peace and closure.

I have to admit, this bombshell has been a long time coming. I've heard whispers about Sean Combs being grimy for years, but the things he did to Cassie were truly horrific and now all the good deeds he's been doing this year are suspect as hell, including giving back the publishing rights for his Bad Boy artists (in return for them signing NDAs prohibiting them from speaking badly about him. Mmmmhmmm). I know a few people in the business, and the things they had to say about him weren't good. I'm beginning to also think that there's some truth to people's suspicions with him about Tupac and how his wife died and I hope that gets a closer look as well. He's just stank, vile, and needs to be put under the jail like R. Kelly.
Warning: If you're thinking about reading the NYT report or anything about this please know that the material is...let's just say even the official court documents have trigger warnings, so if you're a SA survivor you might want to skip doing that, because it's honestly that bad. There are no words for what he did to that woman, and I'm so glad she finally got away from him and made a lovely family with a man who truly loves her.
edit: I put the Tweet code in and have no idea why it's not showing up because I see it when I edit the post.
I hadn't been following this at all, but this new allegation got my attention. Despicable.

I really hope his victim receives some peace and closure. It's really disappointing. There are so many people who deserve that Tyra / ANTM "We were rooting for you!" rant. JM is one of them. So talented, but such a dirt bag. I loved Lovecraft Country. It stinks that his behavior affected the livelihoods of all the people involved with that show AND all of the viewers who enjoyed the show. There aren't a ton of series on mainstream platforms with a mostly Black cast and LC was excellent. I stinks that the actions of one person torpedoed the whole thing
Meghan Good is probably getting paid nicely and happy to be getting media attention. Once the money dries up, she'll probably move on. I hope she's able to get away before he hurts her too.

Unfortunately, our society still promotes getting a man at any cost and being competitive with other women, so to be honest with you I would be surprised if she's getting paid. I've seen enough birdlike behavior from women who really don't care and honestly think "His ex did something wrong and that's why she got hit/cheated on/emotionally abused; it won't happen to me" and will go out with a man accused of the most heinous things. I mean, look at the creepy women writing love letters to the Melendez brothers and others in jail; hell, even Charles Manson got married after everything he's done!
The incident with his ex occurred when she saw a text from another woman on his phone saying somewhat intimate things and it would not surprise me if it was her.

Never underestimate a man's pettiness!
He's hated Diddy (for good reason) for YEARS, so while I don't think he's doing this for altrustic reasons it's going to a good cause. 50 is messy as hell though; I still remember when he publicly challenged Floyd Mayweather to read one page from a Harry Potter book for a million dollars, lol.

Oh wow. I love that for Combs. Didn't think that 50 would come out with such a feminist take, but I support it!

I have to admit that he's one of the few cis men who have said things about Puffy over the years, so there's that.

I don't know. I will never pass judgment upon 50 as to why he is doing the right thing because he is doing the right thing.
This year has been challenging with enough disgusting world events to cause many of us to realign with those who share values, as opposed to pocketbooks or synthetic feel-good interests, and people are beginning to do the right thing because of will and because they can.

It's nice to see someone's attempt to screw someone over backfire on them. During Jonathan Major's trial certain incidents with his past behavior with the victim was not admissible, but Major's own attorney brought up one of the incidents in an extremely vague way in a thinly veiled attempt to shame the victim and shred her credibility with the jury. The judge basically said "Ok, you want to do that and not clarify what you're talking about? I'm opening up EVERYTHING to the court!" and entered into evidence the text messages related to that incident to the jury. It turns out a year previous to this incident he beat her so badly she got a head injury (that still affects her memory to this day), then convinced her not to go to the hospital for it, threatening suicide. As the victim had a BF in HS that killed himself, not only is he an abusive person, he's also manipulative in a particularly sinister way. The judges ruling opened up all the text messages from Majors to the victim in relation to the incident where he blatantly admits to hitting her, threatens to kill himself, and other manipulative behavior. people.com/jonathan-majors-appears-to-admit-physically-attacking-ex-grace-jabbari-in-text-messages-entered-into-evidence-8413470

I suspect that this will be a situation where quite a few more women will come forward now. He's had a lot of power, and if he’s the kind of person to abuse it, he’s probably done it a lot.

This makes me wonder about her treatment on the show, their unwillingness to match her pay to what Simon or Ryan were making at the time. So many questions.

I’m worried she won’t win her case because she went on to another show he was producing and then she even went to his home. His defense team will use all of that against her - it’s going to be brutal. No doubt she has been counseled to expect that and yet she still she wants to pursue this. I am impressed.

He's already denying it in the grossest way possible, saying that she has had "erratic behavior" over the years and her accusations were untrue. Unfortunately for him, things like her telling people after the first incident and the phone call where he basically taunted her can be proven. I always thought there was something skeevy under that "niceness" anyway, and there's been whispers regarding him doing unwanted advances towards dancers on SYTYCD for years.

Well, would you look at that...more allegations! It's almost like when there's smoke there's fire! variety.com/2024/tv/news/nigel-lythgoe-sexual-assault-lawsuit-all-american-girl-1235860080/I have a feeling it's just the tip of the iceberg because it seems like him being a skeeve was extremely well-known. MadTv even did a skit about it years ago, and he would look at some of the dancers on SYTYCD (some being as young as 18) like Wile Coyote in a henhouse, and it was gross.

The Nigel Lithgoe story is so disappointing, although not surprising, sadly. What's also disappointing is how many people have bashed Paula over this. As if she's doing this for the money. It's the usual, "Why didn't she report this at the time? Why did she do another show with him?" Basically, people not understanding the realities of the business and the realities of her prospects to make money. Just because someone is famous, it doesn't make them rich. Unfortunately, there are just too many predators in the dance world....and gymnastics and figure skating and sports in general and.....
Heck, in my dance studio there was a big scandal years ago with the ballet master/eventual owner who molested a number of his students. There was a court case involving one of the girls and he was acquitted, but everyone knew he was guilty. It was KNOWN. Recently, more former students came forward - one was one of my ballet teachers, another was in a performing group with me for years. He still owns that studio, BTW. Nothing really ever happened to him. What blows me away is that people KNEW - parents knew - about all of these allegations and still sent their children to him. He had a reputation for training dancers who went on to professional careers, so apparently some parents valued that over the physical well being of their children
I wonder who they'll replace Nigel with on the judging panel of SYTYCD.....or if that will even go forward. Sadly, the perfect person to replace him was probably tWitch

Unfortunately, the dance world has historically been populated by skeevs. When I was in grad school one of my professors assigned a reading about ballet companies in Europe at the turn of the century, and it was a common practice back then for them to pimp out the ballerinas to their patrons. Some of those girls were as young as 13. www.history.com/news/sexual-exploitation-was-the-norm-for-19th-century-ballerinas

My Parents asked a few weeks before their deaths and I blurted it out.
