Anyone know what MAFS Fan's latest spoiler is on Instagram? I'm such a loser that I don't have Instagram (and don't want to sign up).

It's not anything major. Just looks like DMs from someone who knows Lindsay and doesn't think there's anything going on between her and Zach as far as cheating. She sounds like a nutcase, but this person claims that if Zach isn't interested in Mindy, then Lindsay definitely wouldn't be his type either. Kind of a nothingburger of a "spoiler." They also have a story up right now and it's full of nothing too. Just comments on the show and a few little polls.

Katie really made me mad in the previous episode, about Derek's dreams. She was so unreasonable, and she works in mental health? In this latest episode she said it sounded like it was an ultimatum he was giving her, but it didn't seem that way to me, because she was insisting he couldn't raise kids and write a book because there was no time, etc. She just went OFF on him, and I really felt bad for him. She flew off the handle, and he could do nothing right that night. I give him credit for sticking up for himself and trying to calmly explain things to her. But she was so irrational.
I have no idea how they got Brandon and Taylor to give it *another* try. For cryin' out loud, these two do NOT belong together and won't last! Both are frustrating to watch. He's horrible and I wouldn't want to be with him for anything. She made a huge mistake and won't own up to it, and seems full of herself. Not a good match here.
The other frustrating couple is Meka and Michael, who should also just throw in the towel. There's no way on earth these two could ever make it. Nope.
I'm glad Mindy agreed to set limits and stop accepting Zach's behavior. He says the right things, but does nothing to fix things, that we see. I couldn't even believe it when he was spending the night there, then said he was going to sleep in the other room! He just doesn't get it. And all that texting/talking w/her friend was just weird. Shady, and strange.

Shady, and strange. UGH, this season has turned into such a trainwreck!
What is UP with Katie bagging on Derek's dreams? The guy has a job. What's wrong with him having other dreams too? It's not like those dreams are ALL he wants to do. I have to wonder if there's something else going on with her. Did she grow up in a situation where there was financial instability and she worries about that or was a previous bf a dreamer who never did anything? Her reaction felt very much like there was a back story there. I can't imagine that such a strong reaction could come out of nowhere.
WHY do the experts even want Brandon and Taylor to try? It's obvious they're both nightmares and have no business being in ANY relationship, much less with each other.
If I was Mindy and I saw Zach headed into the other bedroom to sleep, that would have been it for me. Actually, I would have pulled the plug on Zach a long time ago. She's much more patient (naive?) than I am. He doesn't want to be married. He likes the idea of being married, but he's not actually willing to do the work. Or maybe he thought they were going to pair him with the second coming of Giselle Bundchen? When he didn't get that, he checked out.
IMO, the editing for Austin and Jessica in the previews is bs. They're making it look like she super upset about the travel for his business when, although I'm sure she's not happy about it, I'd guess they'll be able to work that out easily and without a lot of drama. They're both pretty even-keeled people.
I never noticed that Michael never looks anyone in the eye until they kept mentioning it on Couples Couch. Now it's all I can see!
I ended up listening to Reality Steve's podcast with Cortney and it was pretty good. She was very kind about Jason and definitely took the high road. She said that she was not doing well in NYC. Depressed, having trouble finding work and very lonely with Jason both working long hours and still doing his wrestling. She said they just grew apart. It sounds like her move to Charlotte was self-preservation. She hasn't spoken to Jason in a while, but hears that he is happy and so is she.

Wow, MAFS is throwing Michael under the bus, driving over him, backing up and driving over him again! {Spoiler} I guess they didn't like him filling for an annulment, or all the other stuff he's been saying about production!

I watched, but maybe I missed what Michael wrote on the paper. I don't know how Meka can even stand to be in the same room with him.

I wondered what Michael wrote down as his income, toooooo! Obviously it was very unbelievable per Meka's reaction.

Does anyone know how many episodes in this season? I don't know but it feels like an eternity. I was thinking it's already been too many! We've been on a lather, rinse, repeat every week since the honeymoons with 3 of the couples. I had hopes for Katie, but she keeps dashing those every week. She sure wants everyone to think exactly how she does, with no room for other opinions , or Derek to have dreams she doesn't approve of. She was quite rude to her mother and in the preview it seemed like she didn't want to hear anything from her dad either. At this point I think I only want Jess and Austin to stay together, and I'm not generally an advocate for divorce.

OMG, that moment when Mindy totally nailed him about his lie was delicious. He practically swallowed his tongue! He's such a creep. I'm glad he got called out ON CAMERA.
The nerve of him trying to play it off to Dr. Viviana that the marriage is all fine. They're "not seeing each other any more." He's delusional.
ETA: I'm still watching the episode and now they're showing Meka and Michael meeting with Dr. Viviana. I'm sorry if he didn't have a great childhood, but how long is he going to use that as an excuse for his bad behavior? It feels like an octopus spraying ink and fleeing so he doesn't actually have to be an adult. He needs to get into therapy NOW. He has no business being married.

Zach's reaction to Mindy catching him in his lie was funny! I love how they showed him admitting to Mindy that he lied but then he tried to weasel his way out with Dr Viviana and she called him out! I thought Dr Viviana was pretty funny too when she told Mindy she was trying not to smile too big at Mindy's news that it was done!

You can tell he's just always been about to bs his way out of any situation, especially with women. Those two ladies had his number and there was no way he could talk his way out of it.
Those divorce party decorations were awesome! "I Do, I Did, I'm Done" on the wall and the sign that said (I think), "We Always Hated Him" had me
I hope all their mutual friends cut scheming Lindsay out of their lives. It's nothing less than she deserves. She's probably delusional enough to think she now has a chance with him

She's probably delusional enough to think she now has a chance with him I don't think the friends were too happy with Lindsay, were they? The one who realized she's the one who told Lindsey the info that got passed on to Zach certainly didn't think highly of her! Mika was funny too, telling the production team they were welcome to Michael, the liar! Oh, so interesting what we found out on Unfiltered about Brandon throwing a producer's phone on the wedding day. Was it Jamie that told her that Brandon had been showing her who he was this whole time? I think Dr Viviana was setting Jess up for failure in receiving a love statement back from Austin. He already said he's very careful about saying that and that he took a year to tell one girlfriend he loved her. I think Jess needs to be a little more patient with him. It's not like he's not saying good things. He said he was crushing on her, and that love was growing. I don't think he'll take a year to tell Jess, but patience might be in order. Once again Katie let me down. What was her weird freak-out over Derek's stuff? And she keeps saying he needs to be grown-up but got mad because he hasn't broken into any circuses with her? That seems like a childish thing to do, so it's good that he still isn't going around doing things like that. It shows he is maturing. Is she just looking for any out at this point?

I didn't hear that about Brandon, thanks for the info justCoz -- he's such a jerk. It seems strange that they're both back "in" when they both were completely done with the process. And they should stay done, IMO. And Katie is being so awful to Derek!! Definitely a "weird freak out" like you said, and I couldn't figure it out at all. The "who the eff are you?" comment she threw at him really made me mad. He's just showing her parts of his past, and she's mad? Mad that it's not the person she thought he was, but to me it doesn't sound like he did anything so horrible to make her question him. He wrote silly love poems and broke into a circus to touch elephants. I wrote silly love poems in jr high too, and I'd never been in love, but I did have crushes by then -- maybe he had a crush on someone and wrote that poem. So what? She just is so hard on him, and he's very accommodating and kind to her. He should get out of that relationship for his own good, and find someone who's going to treat him decently. The other couples are disasters as well, which always makes me wonder about the casting process. I can't imagine how Michael got through all the tests/questionnaires, interviews, etc., and there was no sign at all of his issues? He can't make eye contact, or engage at all! Zach can barely form a coherent sentence! How can these experts not see these people for who they are, or are the other candidates even worse? I think they need a much more thorough vetting process, considering some of the other people cast on previous seasons who were seriously unstable. I've been duped in interviews by people just putting their best foot forward, but that's only after meeting them once. You'd think when they're going to marry someone off, they'd really look hard into their personalities and their past. Here's hoping Jess and Austin can make it!

Tonight's Couples Couch lineup was my favorite: Doug & Jamie, Jephte & Shawniece, Jamie & Eizabeth, and Anthony & Ashley. They're all funny and opinionated and they totally call the guys out on their bs. This season, it's the men who are full of crap (with the exception of Taylor). Doug about Michael's bs: "No, you have to GET a job!" Taylor and Brandon are definitely hot and cold, which is I think what someone said in an interview about the season. Based on the previews, it's ice cold next week.

I have read rumors that Zach and Mindy decided to give it a go and see if their relationship would work off camera, once the season was done filming. I am anxious to see if there is any credence to this.

There's a discussion about Michael's offer letter over on reddit and with knowledgeable posters validated the letter's content. In other words, although Michael didn't know how to explain it, Meka's assumptions about the letter (and Michael) are wrong.

Yeah, I don't believe him. NO offer letter tells what your take-home pay is because that depends on factors that haven't been decided on at that stage, including the number of deductions he's going to take. As some posters in that reddit thread point out, that salary is not in line with that job. I'd be more inclined to believe him is he hadn't shown himself to be a liar about so many other things.

Yes, of course there are non-educators not familiar with the concept of "annualized salary" that will not believe him. That will always be the case. Me? I don't really care for either Meka or Michael. I find the both of them highly annoying. From a production point of view, their individual personality [disorders] must be why the two were hired to participate, in that as a couple they make damn good reality TV.

I'm only an hour in to the "Fight or Flight" episode and I have had enough of Katie! She is such a raging witch. She makes absolutely no sense at all, getting mad at Derek for what, being nice? Treating others nicely? She says one thing and then a completely different thing. I realize drinking probably played a big part, since they were doing shots, but I can't stand her attitude towards him. He's apologizing and trying to be nice to her, but there's NO making her happy. She doesn't even know why she's mad. Can't stand her at all.
Brandon and Taylor continue to fake it but aren't making it. They're both so ridiculous.
Meka and Michael are a hot mess.
ETA: Ooo, so it looked like the producer expected Brandon to go OFF and get physical when he was taking off his mic. Their argument was ridiculous. Brandon's got some problem, obviously, and it's not just with production.

ETA: Ooo, so it looked like the producer expected Brandon to go OFF and get physical when he was taking off his mic. Their argument was ridiculous. Brandon's got some problem, obviously, and it's not just with production. I was thinking the same thing about Katie. I find it ironic that she keeps calling him childish when IMO, she's the immature one in that relationship. I also thought she was saying two different things. First she wants him to "be an adult" but then likes it when he does juvenile things like "steal" the keys to a golf cart? It makes no sense at all. (And I really believe he had production help with all that stuff they were doing. ) Brandon just shows more and more of his true colors each week. He's obviously very controlling and Taylor should run as far away from as she can. He seems like one of the kind that like to play mind games and have you at their beck and call when they want. He sounded reasonable when you listened to his side of the story at the beginning of the episode until later when you hear the rest of the story and you realize that she first tried to spend time with him, that she drove him to the city and only went out with her friends after he said he didn't have time to spend with her. In his mind it made her a "bad wife" because she went out with her friends. Then, when he went home without her, he expected her to come running. On top of that, it's pretty clear from his treatment of production, that he's not really rational or kind. He was even rude to Michael when Michael tried to get in the car. Michael and Meka are not good for each other. Oh yeah, why were Brandon and Michael dining outside, not hanging out with the other people dining inside? So weird.

Post by justCoz on Apr 3, 2020 6:47:10 GMT
I also have questions. Did Michael get himself a big glass of some sort of hard liquor at the beginning of their arrival at the house? Did he interact with anyone before he walked outside? If that was hard liquor, why did he act all sanctimonious when they asked him if he wanted tequila? And what was with his weird story about going to the city? Did he really need to go make funeral arrangements for his uncle? While Michael is always weird, it seems if he had a death in the family that Meka should have been more considerate of him. It's hard to know what really happened because he always acts so strange. (Not that Meka isn't abrasive! I wonder how she would have been with someone who didn't lie all the time. She isn't like that as much with the other people.) What did the lady producer say when Brandon said she was a piece of sh** too? I couldn't quite make it out and subtitles didn't show it. I think she said she was gold sh**; and if she said that, it's hilarious! Why does Brandon think he can just say that to people? It really didn't seem like they even provoked him, not that that's an excuse, but maybe more understandable. It really seemed like he thought they were provoking him. What's also weird is that I don't think Taylor did the right thing the night before. It's hard to fault her for staying away from the paranoid man though. That would be hard to live with.
