Today was a bloodbath...
At CBS: Good Sam, Magnum PI, How We Roll, B Positive, United States of Al were all canceled.
At NBC: Mr. Mayor and Kenan were canceled. I guess Kenan will be sticking with SNL for a while...
At the CW: Charmed, Roswell NM, In The Dark, The 4400, Naomi, and Dynasty were canceled. Part of this may be because the CW may be sold soon and may cease to exist in its current form. (EDIT: Legacies was also canceled today.)
On the brighter side, shows that were renewed: Young Rock, Grand Crew, All American Homecoming, American Auto
Also, a new George Lopez sitcom, the Supernatural prequel series, and Gotham Knights were given the go ahead for this fall.

Oh, I really enjoy Magnum PI, and so does my mother. I'm kinda bummed about that one. Hopefully they had warnings so they could finish the storylines. I hate when shows aren't given proper time to have good endings.

I hate when shows aren't given proper time to have good endings. Unfortunately, Magnum PI had broadcast their 20th episode of the season last Sunday, May 6, 2022. It was called "Close to Home". It COULD have been considered a finale.
I, too, will miss the show.

Really bummed about Good Sam. I liked the cast and it was really getting better after a slow start. Sophia Bush has talked about how it's the healthiest, best set she's ever worked on, so I'm sad that all the people who worked on that show now don't have that kind of workplace.
Not surprised about the CW shows. I liked In the Dark, but it feels like it should have ended a season or two ago. Legacies started out with so much promise, but sort of fizzled for me. I thought it had potential to be even better than The Originals, but it never got there. A lot of the CW shows have bad writing and suffer from muddy, convoluted storytelling.
Kenan Thompson is the highest paid cast member on SNL. I doubt he's going anywhere!

I was surprised because of all the cancellations but read much was do to business and one company buying out another and establishing streaming platforms. Even with the cancellation notice The CW is airing the last seasons of shows. Glad Naomi was cancelled. It was even worse than Supergirl. So preachy. The main character was so all knowing and perfect that I wanted to slap her multiple times during an episode. It also seems all the new shows based on old comics or series are being rewritten so their characters are all woke if I am using the term correctly. I watch to be entertained, to be amused, intrigued, to learn something new, not have a political agenda thrust into my face and down my throat. Stargirl is the only show left that I watch on the CW.

I'm disappointed that this will be the last season of In The Dark.

I guess 100 million hours viewed and a top 10 spot weren't rich enough for Netflix. They canceled First Kill.

Well, THIS headline was a rollercoaster! First I said, "OH!" and then I read the rest and was relieved. I really like 9-1-1. I'm glad it's going to continue. Odd that Fox canceled the "mothership" series, which I think is the better show, but renewed 9-1-1 Lone Star. I guess there won't be any crossover events!

This news was definitely a head-scratcher. I like both shows, but they do seem headed into different directions. Maybe this move will allow them to breathe a bit.

Rats, Rats, Rats! Fantasy Island has been cancelled. I've been watching the reboot ever since it came on. I love that show. We need more nice escapism shows like this one. It did have a good Season Finale that wrapped up a few ongoing storylines.
Oh well. I guess the networks needed more room for more cheaply made, sex based reality TV shows. Network TV has gotten worse & worse.

Same, it really did grow on me. It looks like they are shopping to a new network, the popular "our journey does not end here" tweet has been out in the world, lol. So There may be hope

I've really enjoyed the reboot (for the most part), but the schedule has been so bizarre this season, that I figured it probably wasn't going to make it. I was glad that they wrapped up those storylines. It was a good series finale.

While Discovery/Warner is unloading shows and channels and subsidiaries right & left, it turns out Paramount+ is doing some unloading of its own:
All these shows (and who knows what else) will disappear from the streamer on June 30th. Not just canceled, but deleted. Which makes no sense at all...

I'm literally watching episode 4 of Rise of the Pink Ladies right now. It's so annoying when these streamers not only cancel a series, but then effectively erase it from existence.

Why delete them? That's just strange. Is it to avoid paying residuals on streaming?

It's especially strange with Star Trek Prodigy, because a new season is in post-production now. I don't know about the other shows, but I was reading a theory that with the Trek show, they could license it to another streamer and make more money off it that way.
Corporate people doing corporate things that mean nothing to the consumer except frustration.
