Tonight's episode was wonderful (ACGAS)! Helen had her baby and James got a 2 day leave. There were so many funny moments, as well as heartwarming ones! I can't believe season 4 is over already!

All Creatures Great and Small: I trust this is true, I saw posts yesterday that suggested “more to come”. This is what is currently in the news: ”With the finale of Season 4, or rather the Christmas special, which acts as the finale for the American airing of All Creatures Great & Small coming up, we still haven’t heard if there is a Season 5.” Below article though is dated February 17th, 2024. Hopefully, the renewal will be further confirmed by PBS any day now. Will there be a season 5?

The link I posted was dated November, 2023.

I saw that it was dated Nov 23 2023. Was that the article you referred to Eastcoastmom? At that time there was no confirmation. Here is the first nod that they will be confirming it, and they are expecting to announce it soon. More to come

Here is an article published in January 2024. ”If All Creatures Great and Small is renewed for the fifth season, the fans might be able to catch it on screens by mid-2025 or late 2025, considering filming and the writing has not yet begun.” Will there be a All Creatures Great and Small Season 5
It seems odd that an article from Nov 2023 would confirm, when everyone else is saying they have not yet confirmed, but are expected to. Usually PBS is the first to make the announcement. Maybe we will receive confirmation in the next few days. I can’t believe they would just end a series with baby James born and that’s it. I think that Nov article was written in anticipation of the announcement soon.

Oh that’s sad. I really enjoyed him. Thanks so much though for confirming we at least get Miss Scarlett back!

From the PBS Masterpiece announcement: "Miss Scarlet will welcome back many cast members from previous seasons, including Evan McCabe as Detective Fitzroy, Cathy Belton as Ivy, Felix Scott as Patrick Nash, Paul Bazely as Clarence, Simon Ludders as Mr. Potts, and Tim Chipping as Detective Phelps. Series creator Rachael New says, “We will miss our Duke but there is so much in store for Eliza – new crimes, new friends, new foes and new romance. We will be keeping her very busy!”
“This new chapter in Eliza’s story is going to bring our audience more of what they’ve come to love about this series – mystery, humor, potential romance and most of all, Kate Phillips’ terrific performance as Miss Scarlet.”

I had a feeling about this as he was barely on this season. I was even thinking last week that they should call it Miss Scarlet because he was barely around. New romance? I kind of hope they shelve that for just a bit and give Eliza her time to shine. And bring back Nash.

Yes, Nash is back, he was listed as a returning character. You got the title right too! Good intuition!

Welcome March!!!! On the 17th of this month we have a few interesting shows to look forward too! Starting at 8/7C Call the Midwife Season 13 Returns. Followed by 9/8C Nolly on Masterpiece Premiere Followed by 10/9C Alice and Jack Premiere Nolly: The brand-new miniseries reveals the story of Noele “Nolly” Gordon, one of the most famous faces on British TV in the 1960s and 70s, whose unceremonious firing from her hit soap opera was front-page news. Her shocking demise made headlines for days. The viewing public was outraged for months. And Nolly herself did not go quietly.
Alice and Jack: Created by award-winning writer Victor Levin, Alice and Jack portrays the chaos of romance, laying out the 15-year relationship between two star-crossed lovers. “It’s more honest about human behavior than most romances allow,” says RogerEbert.com, and “[asks] audiences to think about subjects they think they know well, and look at them from a different angle.”
ETA: time correction.

Following the first episode of Nolly, I wasn't sure who I was rooting for. I mean she seemed a bit to pushy and at times rude. But, the real Nolly was also adored by her castmates and Crossover crew. Here is the Masterpiece Fact or Fiction breakdown for Episode 2.

I just realized that I never posted the fact or fiction for Nolly episode 1 either. So for anyone interested here it is:

I like Nolly; it's a bit quirky fun. Jack and Alice is creeping me out. I feel like it could be a horror story. He had a lovely wife and child and threw it away? And then Alice is basically stalking him and he's okay with it?

Mina, that’s exactly how I felt after watching the second episode of Alice and Jack. I was ready to drop it, but for some unknown reason I went ahead and watched episode 3, and then was interested and compelled to watch the next, and the next, etc. I loved it. I adored the final episode especially! But, I think your feelings will change if you continue to stay with it.
The best episode for Nolly is the third episode (airing this coming Easter Sunday).
“PBS passport” allows viewing of full episodes in each series for Nolly, and Alice and Jack. But, Call the Midwife has only the first 6 episodes of this season available so far.

I don't have Passport and have been recording Alice and Jack. So far, I think only 2 episodes have aired. I haven't watched them yet. How many total episodes are there, Mikesgirl?
