Carolyn said on Instagram that her family could not quarantine the 7 days required before coming on the show and that her dad barely speaks English. She has a little flag emoji next to "dad", but I didn't recognize where it was from. She also has a pic of her ex, saying that he supports her fully on her journey for love, and he is one good-looking dude. Her son's name is "Lion".

Thanks for the info! I can imagine a lot of people could not take time off like that in the midst of a pandemic. I can't imagine my parents agreeing to be on a dating reality show which would take up some of their vacation time.

Yeah, I'm not going to fault her or her family for that. What isn't cool is her obfuscation whenever Kurt brings up her child or husband. He seems to be asking questions that well, anyone who would be stepping into unfamiliar territory would, and some ex and co-parenting situations are not happy ones and filled with drama. Either answer the man's questions or squash the whole thing. In fact, she should have done that in the beginning because any man apprehensive about getting with a woman with a child should get a swift "no" because why invite that energy into your child's life?
I also think that they might have discussed it more fully between them but that wouldn't exactly make good TV.

First up the girls go visit Kurt and he is showing them how to do construction. They are drooling over his a**.
Next they go visit his folks. Everyone is getting along with his folks but Carolyn has to keep calling them her in laws and is hammering that she and Kurt have this great connection in front of all the other girls. His family don't look impressed.
His mom runs a dog rescue so she connects with Calah who volunteers and fosters.
Amanda connects with his dad since they are from the same area. The other girl is also chatting well with dad. Everyone is acting normally and playing nicely...except Carolyn who has to show how much more advanced she is with their relationship. So annoying.

Steven is coaching the family to lighten up on the show of wealth...not such expensive cars or watches. Telling them how to answer questions.
Meanwhile, Kurt's folks are now giving their impressions. Amanda is liked by everyone...except mom doesn't see the chemistry. Mom thinks Carolyn is like his ex...love is blind. They think Whitney isn't a keeper. Short term girlfriend. Calah was liked by them but they wonder why he doesn't know her well and maybe he is closing himself off from her.
Kurt is even more confused. I think he just wanted them to love Carolyn and they aren't, so now he doesn't know what to do.

Here we go with life on the farm. This should be interesting. These are city girls. Annie has doubled up on her allergy meds.
They get to bottle feed a calf before coming over to meet the family. While they are talking, Steven brings his pet raccoon Bubbles to meet the girls. Bubbles lives in the house. So cool.
Whitney admits she is not sure if she could live the farm life. I think he realizes that she may in fact not be a great fit.

Steven's family liked all of them. Everyone seemed so much more relaxed during these meet the family dates than they do during the Bechelor/ette. No crazy people and no rudeness from anyone.
Honey ... I'm home! Love these guys.
They are uncomfortable eliminating anyone and talk to Martin. They still have a ton of questions for the ladies so everyone is staying and they are having a cocktail party. The anti Bachelor.
Martin tells them that there is a switch happening...now the ball is in the ladies court. They have to pick which of the guys they want to spend time with...
So good. Can't wait for next week!

Such a good episode! These are genuinely sweet guys and their families made a point of making everyone feel welcome. I really liked how Kurt's dad made Carolyn feel more comfortable by telling her about his daughter who was divorced with a child and who was dating again. It was a really thoughtful thing to do, and you could see the relief in her face and that made me kinda sad. Carolyn quite frankly is beginning to make me feel uncomfortable, especially with her "inlaws" talk; it is way too soon for that! Mom seems more skeptical as Carolyn shares many characteristics as his ex, and all of a sudden everything makes sense! The other ladies were lovely, and I liked that Amber got some screen time and the families seemed to like her. Martin seemed genuinely touched that all of the women got out of the van and hugged him; it was a nice moment. Deciding to not send anyone home was also a good idea as these guys seem like they want to know everyone better at this point. Everything that makes the Bachelor shows "not-watch tv" in my house is non-existent in this show, which is what makes it so enjoyable. I look forward to next week; we know Carolyn will choose Kurt but if all the other ladies choose Steven it might be a wakeup call for him.

Awwww! The families are so nice. I would love to hang out with Kurt's family, they just seem so wonderful and fun to talk to, it just felt so warm. I also liked Steven's dad saying that Steven will have best friends for life.
Glad that Steven's family took a liking to Amber, I really am liking her more as she gets more camera time. But really, there isn't anyone I'm not liking, except for Carolyn since I don't think she is being very real, honest, or forthcoming.
It looks like Carolyn is bringing more heavy drama talk in a boat with Kurt, such misery. Listen to your mama Kurt!!

Carolyn was SO annoying with all the "my in-laws" comments. Talk about jumping the gun. It feels like none of them are as into Steven as they are Kurt - except maybe Annie? - but I don't see a single one of them enjoying country life if they're used to the city. Loved Steven's pet raccoon, too.

Yeah, as a city girl myself, being out in the middle of nowhere in my prime years would not interest me. Farms are also a ton of work and maybe I'm a snob, but that house was large but a far from cozy and I think I saw cinderblocks. I don't think you can order a pizza to be delivered there which would be a deal-breaker. Also, Kurt is hot.

City girl here too, and for me it depends on how "country" it is; if it's like "45 minutes to an hour outside a major city" I could possibly deal; if we're talking like Idaho or Southern Illinois it would be a huge no.

I feel that if there is a pet raccoon in the mix, it's probably too country for me.

The Joes are on DeAnna Stagliano's last podcast, and much laughter ensues. The guys still seem very down to earth and had been spending some time together on Steven's ranch. After the podcast they were going to fly to helicopter to Kansas City. Well worth the listen.

I just started watching and am up to episode 4.
Do any of these girls now how to dress, I felt as if the was a hooker's ball the girls were attending.
Sara Rose - the botox on the upper lip drove me to distraction.
Carolyn - liked her at first but when you tell a guy to date other women it is hypocritical to get upset about it and interfere.
Many of the women feel way overthin and some with the fake boobs and fake lips are hard to take. Especially the ones that claim they are lawyers.
I think the majority of these females are as fake as the plastic they inject into their bodies.
Some of their job titles were very creative.

FYI Jennie K sex trafficking: www.reddit.com/r/Joe_Millionaire/comments/sbsxh3/jennie_krausers_sex_trafficking_case/I was a bit confused about Jennie's sex trafficking comment as I thought she looked a bit "older" than the normal 14/15/16 that is kidnapped into the trade. It was shocking to find out that she voluntarily did 3 sex/porn films. I guess you can do what you want with your body. But the issue in Jennie's case seems to be she was not fully paid and that the films aired on national markets and they were not supposed to be. And there was a 13 million dollar settlement. So who got the money?

Episode 5 - the camping meltdown
Does anyone find sloppy drunk attractive?
I just don't get that folks think the only way they can have fun is to be drunk. If you can't loosen up with out alcohol there is a problem.
Carolyn is being ridiculous with Kurt. She had the opportunity to get really close with Kurt but tells him to play the field then does drive bys to break up conversations he is having with the other ladies, then she had a hissy fit about Amanda and Katy jumps into it. Ladies there is NO commitment between Carolyn and Kurt. He can do what he wants. I really thought they might get rid of Carolyn.

Finished episode 6 the vineyard episode.
This was not the episode for Jennie to use the gold coin and yeah it does look as if Carolyn encouraged her. I do think Jennie was not the right match for Stephen. I assume that Stephen is from a conservative religious family being from Missouri, Bible Belt Country. Jennie's porn tapes would not go over well with his family.
At the very beginning of this episode when the boys were reviewing the camping event and I don't remember them showing this in episode 5, Kurt said and they showed that Carolyn was seating on his lap and kissing him at the campfire yet when Amanda did the same Carolyn went a tad cray cray. You can't have it both ways.

The ladies are picking who they want to date...Annie and Amber want Steven.
Carolyn and Amanda want only Kurt.
Calah and Whitney want to date both.
Amanda is first with Kurt. They are talking about money. She is careful about it because it could disappear at any time. She doesn't really care if he has it. I think she just wants someone who is willing to work.
Annie and Steven are re-enacting Lady and the Tramp spaghetti scene. He is really into the cheesy stuff tonight.
Whitney and Steven roller skating with Steven. She is confused about the guys...bull. She isn't really into either IMO.

One of the things that I just realized about Carolyn that annoys me...she wears all these baby/little girl dresses. All her clothes look the same with these frills. Once again Kurt tries to have a serious discussion with her.
This is a little more romantic than the date with Amanda. She tells him she is falling in love and he says he is too. Lots of making out in the water in their underwear.
Steven in the corn field with Calah with some country band singing "I'm going to marry that girl". Hmmm...

Amber going horseback riding with Steven and Calah is on a picnic with Kurt.
Calah is telling Kurt on their date that she actually has a strong connection with Steven and that he will find love with the women he has a connection to.
Steven isn't that into Amber...he didn't even try to keep his horse next to hers when the were riding. He realizes that she is very serious and he asks if maybe they are more like friends...she starts crying. He is upset that he hurt her. In the limo she says she was just starting to warm up.

Kurt with Whitney in the evening and she tells him she isn't feeling it and he isn't giving her the reassurance that Steven did. Kurt says this is the second time he has been dumped today. He calls Steven to let him know that Whit is all into Steven and he is less than thrilled. First Amber and now Whitney. I think there is another dumping coming.
She comes and Steven is waiting. She is all excited and Steven tells her that their lifestyles just aren't going to mesh. She is escorted out and he goes to eat a giant waffle.
Next week is final and the guys have to come clean about the money.
I'm pretty sure Kurt will pick Carolyn, but I don't know about Steven. He is a toss up.

Well I re-watched the dates. First time I was at work and had some interruptions.
Annie got a romantic dinner in the barn...shades of Chris S. The cheesy Lady and the Tramp reference and 50 Shades of Gray blindfold to the balloon. I personally found the balloon date romantic, however, I am still not convinced. Parts of it felt kind of forced IMO.
Calah got a romantic dinner in the corn field with some country band she likes. Some dancing and lots of making out. For me personally, I would have found this date less romantic, however, watching this second time around, without the interruptions from work, I now think I see a stronger connection with Calah. Steven just seemed more natural with her and the kissing seemed more natural...less gimmicky. The conversation also seemed deeper...from both of them. I now think she will be his pick!

Finished episode 7 and 8 the bouncy house and carriage date and meet the parents.
Glad Whitney used her coin but was smart to do it after the Boy's dates.
What is the big dark secret with Carolyn. She says her son is a package deal. OK. She says she respects her ex and they co-parent. OK. Then why will she not answer any of Kurt's questions about what he considers a deal breaker but is willing to try because of his feelings for her?
Then her parents don't show up or any of her siblings? Major RED flags all over the place.
I do appreciate the boys analysis of the ladies and that they do talk to them after elimination to explain why they did what they did.

Episode 9 - Joe's Hometowns -
Of all the ladies Carolyn is the most calculated in her confessionals. This is a competition but will she really want the prize if she wins?
Both Steven and Kurt's families were nice. I think Kurt's families were more intuitive about the ladies then Steven's.

The can be fun and cuddly as babies but become territorial and unpredictable when sexually mature.

Midol, your re-caps were cracking me up! Bear, you hit on what what doesn't sit right with me about Carolyn, she treats this like a competition no matter what the prize is.
The minute that a man wants to re-enact eating spaghetti Lady and The Tramp style, I'm out.

Episode 10 - single dates with all the ladies
Steven - hits it off with Annie and there is a connection on both sides
Steven and Whitney - I got the impression that most of the ladies are here to find a potential husband and to start a family. Whitney made it very clear that is not what she wants. So why is she here? Whitney wants someone to travel the world with her and have fun and Steven as a millionaire can support that lifestyle. So you think people with money just sit around and party. It is obvious that Steven is ambitious and driven and wants to start a family which is totally opposite of what Whitney wants and I don't think he will give up his business to support her lifestyle.
Steven and Callah are opening up more to each other. Glad to see that.
Steven and Amber - I didn't really feel Amber from the beginning. I really don't know why she was on the show except they needed a bit of diversity in the cast. She and her family are way too city and too serious. I just can't see it.
At this point it is really easy to see Amber and Whitney are out and I have not finished the episode.
Kurt and Amanda seem to hit it off and I can see Amanda wanting to make a go of it but there is that big obstacle called Carolyn.
Kurt gets dumped by Callah. Owe!
Kurt gets dumped by Whitney. Not as painful.
Carolyn --- BIG RED FLAG will not talk about her past relationship and says it was toxic. Gee I wonder who made it that? Does she really expect Kurt to up end his business and move to where she is? NOT going to happen.

I was giggling when Calah and Whitney dumped Kurt. Everyone can see he's in lust with Carolyn, so why bother. Amanda is still hanging in there because I think she really does like him, but I still think he'll choose Carolyn's manipulative behind. His loss. Steven was really into Calah this episode - they might be a good match. Didn't he say before that he owns a chain of carwashes or something in addition to the farm, and travels a good bit for that? I'm really looking forward to the finale, unlike The Bachelor.

Kurt also does soundbites well but mostly we heard him say how confused he is and it is mainly about Carolyn. This woman is going to do a major mind f*** to him if he gets into a relationship with her. Kurt's focus on Carolyn is why the other women dumped him, does he not get that?
