So sad to hear about Maggie Griffin yesterday. She was a great lady. 99 is incredible and I know she'd been in the throes of dementia for many months, but I'm sure it's still devastating for those who loved her. Now she can be with her husband. Those two were quite the pair. They were my favorite part of Life on the D List.

Rest in peace, Kenny. I'm not a country music fan, but he had such a beautiful voice. Lady is one of my favorites. Lady - Kenny Rogers

When I see the terms "Chef" and "Coronavirus" in the same sentence it worries me.

He was a favorite of my mom's and mine. We used to go to Tabla and then when she went to Senior Living, West End Grill was a couple of blocks away. He would come over and talk to us all the time. I wanted to go to his new restaurant, but it was only open for dinner and I never got around to going. He was like a friend to us and North End Grill was a perfect restaurant (great food and great people). I hear about his death yesterday and was really sad about it.

Actor John Callahan has passed. I think he worked on other soaps (DOOL?), but I remember him as Edmund Grey on All My Children

Also gone today is civil rights icon Joseph Lowery, at the age of 98. President Obama wrote a lovely tribute to him:

He was a hunk. I have a hard time picturing Eva without John. This is very sad news.

Such an important and inspiring leader! I am so touched by these words: “We ain’t going back. We’ve come too far, marched too long, prayed too hard, wept too bitterly, bled too profusely, and died too young to let anybody turn back the clock on our journey to justice.”

He was a hunk. I have a hard time picturing Eva without John. This is very sad news. He and Eva had just ELECTRIC chemistry. I remember talking about it with my mom and we both thought, "Oh, there's no way those two aren't hooking up IRL." I was really sad when they split up and I think they had a very difficult relationship for years afterward. I remember them not even speaking the others name in interviews. It was like, "The person I share my daughter with" or something like that. I was happy to see that they seem to have worked things out in recent years and come to a better relationship. Their daughter is only 18 and getting ready to go off to college. My heart breaks for her.
It looks like he was sort of a father figure for Sarah Michelle Gellar for a while too, since she didn't seem to have that in her life. I know she and Eva were and are close. SMG posted a really sweet tribute to him on her IG.
