Ed Asner seemed to have worked right until the end. I saw him in something recently - probably a little role in a TV movie. It seems like he'd been working forever. I recently saw something about the age of the MTM cast members and was shocked at EA was 41 when the show started. I guess I thought he was older.....although I guess everyone looked older to me back then. He definitely had a great run. Betty White has now outlived all of her MTM and GG co-stars, BTW. In January, she'll turn 100! Incredible. When it's finally her time, she'll have so many people waiting for her.
ETA: I just checked out Ed Asner's imdb. Look at all the projects he had lined up. Amazing.

It's pretty poignant to see Willard go so comparatively young after being known for wishing so many centenarians a happy birthday.

Rickie Lee Reynolds passed away last night at the age of 72. He had been hospitalized with congestive heart failure. He was one of the lead guitar players for Black Oak Arkansas, one of the best live bands ever. RIP Rickie.

I'm gutted by Michael K.s death because I loved him in everything I've seen him in. Some outlets were speculating a bad batch of drugs, which makes it even more senseless and sad. It's like Mac Miller all over again.

Even sadder, apparently he went into therapy after filming "Lovecraft Country" to deal with that and substance abuse issues. Considering the material in LC and especially his storyline in the series I can't say I blame him; it's an extremely heavy watch and after getting to the next to last episode with Black Wall Street I couldn't watch the final show.

I stopped watching Lovecraft because it was negatively affecting me. So, I cannot imagine how hard this material was on him and his sobriety. He always came across in interviews that I saw as a shy, sweeet, intelligent man. Wide and grateful for his roles. He spoke years ago about how he was in the depths of a raging coke addiction. Yet, he was on set never late and knew his lines. It’s such a frustrating disease for the person dealing with it and those who love that person. He will Rest In Peace.

Oh my god...What ...He can't be dead. HE just can't. That hilarious way he stuttered through a story, read the snl news. He would start a joke about one thing then somehow wind up confused, sidetracked and then ye twisted the whole thing like words made of turkish taffy. A completley different joke in the end-knowing full well the host of a talk show would be his foil. I even watched his short lived and brilliantly funny show THe Norm McDonald Show. He was also Mikes haoless brother Rusty on 'The Middle.' Jeez, he was so ALIVE! A human electrical spark of inventive havoc. I love you, brother. You did good here. Remember that. You did good. Thank you for that.

The bansd is before my time, but I'm a musiphile so my influences are extensive. I used to put them on the turntable at the record store I worked at when I was a teenager.

I live about 20 miles from Black Oak. Most of the guys in the band that are still living, still live around here. I once ran into Jim Dandy Mangrum in the grocery store & talked to him for quite a while. They were one of the best live bands I ever saw. They got The California Jam up & well...jamming.

RIP my movie screen friend. Just coming here to post this. 😢 I had such a crush on him when I was little. I just read on my news feed that he was ousted from Disney when they discovered he was gay and then lost his next contract when he was arrested for possession of marijuana. This makes me sad. We’ve come such a long way in my lifetime. I hope he’s at peace now and surrounded with love. ❤️

Me, too, on all of this! Had a crush on Tommy Kirk and wanted to be Haley Mills. They were both such a big part of my childhood.
That's sad that he lost his Disney contract for being gay. And it sucks to have such a clean-cut image that you'd lose contracts over marijuana possission back then. So much pressure for those child stars.
EDITED TO ADD: I just read an interview from earlier this year with Tommy Kirk, and from what he said, he had a very serious drug problem that was more than smoking a little pot. He nearly died several times from an overdose. I feel so sad for these kids that have so much success so young and don't really know how to make the transition to adulthood. So many seem to really struggle. It sounds like he eventually dealt with his drug addiction and led a good life out of the limelight.
