I'm heartbroken. I loved him so much. Not only did he play Donna's grandfather on the "new" Doctor Who episodes, but he was on an episode of the show in 1966 as well. IMO, Wilf was one of those characters who just had so much heart. That scene that ends up leading to 10's regeneration because he saves Wilf is just so emotional. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. What a lovely man

“Dad, take those off!” “I shan’t! It’s Christmas”
RIP you good man

She was so beautiful! I loved watching her on the original Star Trek show. May she rest peacefully. 🕊️

Much respect to both of them. I enjoyed her on Star Trek, and he really was one of the greats!

CBS Sunday Morning had two highlighted then approx six more in their weekly In Memorium...then to read about Pat Carroll...whew. Most were quite elderly, though a couple were younger.

Many years ago, we got to be in the studio audience for a taping of "You Don't Say." Pat Carroll was one of the celebrities. She had me laughing so hard during one of the commercial breaks that I thought I was going to have to run for the restroom. Clean fun . . . nothing like what passes for humor these days.
RIP. Thanks for the laughs.

For anyone that grew up in So. Cal. listening to Vin Sculley do the Dodgers game in the Summer, today is a sad day indeed. Vin passed away last night at the age of 94. He had 67!!! great years in the broadcast booth & was the voice of Summer. RIP Mr. Sculley.

I didn't realize he broadcast THE CATCH (Montana to Clark 49ers) until a memorium on the news last night. He had a great storytelling voice.

I just saw this too.. my news feed popped it up at work. I hate to say it but I knew once she started looking so thin she would not have the turnaround she hoped for I will always adore her and her music.

I just heard the news. She was such a big part of my preteen and early teen years! My childhood friend and I saw Grease so many times! We even saw Xanadu! We spent so much time over at each other's houses listening to her music. I still have her post Grease album. Such a loss.

Lamont Dozier has died. He was of course a member of the famous songwriting team of Holland/Dozier/Holland. They wrote tons & tons of hits at Motown. RIP Mr. Dozier.

I know the news was filled with the passing of Olivia Newton John & it should have been, but we lost another Aussie vocalist this past week. Judith Durham died of bronchiectasis, whatever that is, she was 79, She was the lead singer of The Seekers. If you remember the songs Georgy Girl & I'll Never Find Another You, from the mid 60's, that was Judith. She passed away on the 5th of August & I thought she should be mentioned here.

Anne Heche has passed away as a result of the injuries she sustained in the car accident. She was 53. Gladly in her drunken speeding down the road she did not hit anyone. There was massive property damage and a tenant of the one house that was destroyed by Heche's vehicle survived as did the tenant's two dogs and cat. Hopefully Heche's estate will be able to make any victims whole. Last I heard the hospital was keeping the actor on life support to see if any organs would be viable for organ transplants.

If she has been pronounced, the hospital would have already made that determination and the plug pulled.

Would her organs be viable if she was on cocaine and fentanyl?

Would her organs be viable if she was on cocaine and fentanyl? When I heard the announcement on the radio I was thinking would the organs be any good with all that alcohol and potentially cocaine or heroin in her system, and there was also the possibility that the car accident damaged, or bruised some of her organs, and there was also the potential of smoke inhalation.

When they pulled her out after an hour, her brain was without oxygen (anoxia) so her blood would have stopped flowing until they put her on artificial ventilation. I would say that lack of oxygenated blood would have damaged her organs beyond where they could be used; to say nothing of the noxious smoke and the inhaled flames which would have burned her throat and lungs. Horrific and very sad.
