I know some of you watch Korean media and I have sad news; "Parasite" actor Lee Sun-kyun was found dead in Seoul yesterday. He was 48, and the circumstances surrounding his death are tragic. Mr. Lee is survived by his wife, two sons and siblings. I enjoyed him in "Parasite," "Cofee Prince," and other things, and this is really shocking and upsetting. I thought I heard that there was a suicide note. So sad.

So sad to hear of Tom's passing. We spent a lot of time listening to the Smothers Brothers and watching their TV show. Back when humor was sweet and music had understandable lyrics.

I was a huge fan of the Smothers Bothers. It’s sad to see the passing of another icon from my youth.

Some might have missed it, but as an ABC soap fan, this one broke my heart. He was such a heartthrob on OLTL as Antonio Vega. 56 is just heartbreakingly young.

This is really shocking. We always say, "too young," but 42 is WAY too young.
I enjoyed him on The Cleaning Lady - I'm not sure what is going to happen with that show now - and as Aaron Shore on Designated Survivor.

How very sad, especially for his two very young children. That stinks.

Rest in peace, "Doug Williams" of Days of Our Lives. I watched Bill Hayes in that role for many years. He was 98!

Rest in peace, "Doug Williams" of Days of Our Lives. I watched Bill Hayes in that role for many years. He was 98! Bill Hayes, as Doug Williams, has been a part of my youth, teen age, adulthood, middle age, and retiree time for nearly as long as I can remember. I knew how old he was, approximately, but yet he always seemed so youthful. Such a talented & upbeat man. It seems that every picture of him has him smiling that happy, engaging smile of his. He brought happiness to all his fans. RIP Bill. And condolences to Susan & his children.

😞 I no longer watch soaps, but I grew up watching Days of Our Lives and others, alongside my late mom. I remember Bill and Susan fondly from that show and their television appearances; they were a golden couple back in the day. Condolences to all who loved him. RIP🕊️

You've said everything that I would say too, cause I was charmed by Bill Hayes from those early days too, and I've always loved him and looked forward to seeing him on the show. Yes, I always knew how old he was, and surely 98 is a very ripe old age. But it seemed as if he'd go on smiling forever, and my heart breaks a little that he isn't going to be able to do that for us anymore.

A lovely tribute by Bryan Cranston...
Bryan Cranston on January 12, 2024 10:19 pm
One of my first professional acting jobs was on Days of Our Lives. It was 1980 and I won a 3 day gig on the show. My first day was a disaster. I failed to fully extend the stem on my alarm clock and missed my call time…Panicked, I raced to NBC and arrived over two hours late…I was embarrassed, and failed in my first attempt at making a positive impression. I missed the rehearsal of my two scenes, and the irritated stage manager arranged for an assistant to give me a quick review of the blocking, then I was on my own. Trying not to fall into a shame spiral, I was alone in my tiny dressing room when there was a knock on the door. I opened it to see Bill Hayes – the star of the show. For a moment I thought he was coming to fire me personally! Instead, he said some comforting words, commiserating with my situation, and asked if I wanted to know the backstory to the character and the scene. I was shocked. He spent 20 minutes helping a stranger to feel a little less humiliated. He really cheered me up. I will never forget his kindness and patience. From that moment, I think of Bill whenever I see an actor in need. Bill Hayes was a Prince, and a damn fine actor. Rest now, Bill, and thank you. — Bryan Cranston

It's so interesting how some people's real character comes shining through their stage character. He must've been a really wonderful person. It seemed that he was so fond of, by pretty much everyone who knew him. Lucky Susan!!!

Melanie has died, she was 76. You may remember her performing at Woodstock, or her hits “Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" & Brand New Key. No cause of death has been announced, but evidently she ad been ill for a while.

I saw this yesterday, and I loved her in high school, Beautiful People (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoyyZEaDUyU) and Lay Lady Lay (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aniXFOTri54). Brought back memories! It was so exciting to find 'new' music (even when it was recorded before one was born) back then without the internet. I never knew much about her but looked her up, and she was born in Queens.
RIP Melanie

Alien Nation was such a great show that never quite found it's audience. I watched it religiously.
