HGTV doesn't have any pics up, but this was on Ty's Instagram. Yuck. The more I look at that janky paneling, the more I hate it. Black curtains gotta go. And the "art" looks like an abstract rabid squirrel or something. Terrible design. Ty knows better than that. I don't watch simply because I don't care for Allison. If she is in a show I turn it. As for Christina she must be making lots of money because in her divorce from Ant she came away really good. He didn't do so shabby either. Really, is there a link to any juicy gossip?

Poor Ty is out of his element in this competition. The other two designers are 5 star. Just look at the lighting choices the three teams made. Two designers did a fabulous job with lighting. Ty’s lighting looked like a college dorm room.

Ty’s lighting looked like a college dorm room. You have to put the blame on the team. The lighting fixture was not that bad, the room is styled badly, looks unbalanced and that hanging looks sloppy. Is Ty doing a good job as a mentor? He is making suggestions and giving them items but who is doing the styling? And who is NOT paying attention to the little details? That is what is killing this team.

Thank you. I always wonder about people who start dating other people before the final divorce papers are signed. Shouldn't you mourn the marriage? It just looks like rebound relationships and they will repeat the same relationship mistakes over and over again without taking a longer look at themselves, smoking toad venom is not the ultimate answer.

Yeah the toad venom was like SMH. It looks like she is headed in another relationship and so is he.

That is what is killing this team. I watched the final reveal again and noticed the absolutely poor lighting in Team Ty's living room. There is one source of light and that is the single bulb light fixture that Ty brought in. Team Taniyah had a chandelier like everyone else did, but they also had wall scones on the walls of the staircase and the upstairs hallway, plus the mirror over the fireplace reflects all the ambient light as well as the electrical light sources. Team Alison had a chandelier, wall scones on the beach side wall as well as up the stairs and the upstairs hallway.

Good Bones - another cute project and this time they actually made a good profit - yay! The soft blues and grays with wood accents were pretty, and I really liked the fish scale tile they used in the shower. The flooring seemed just a bit dark to me, but that's probably personal preference. They already had it under contract just from floor plans, so I'm sure they worked with the buyers on colors and stuff that they wanted.

I went back and tried to watch the first episode of the competition show and turned it off when the wife in Ty's group wanted to tear out those horrible patchwork walls and sheetrock it and Ty was like "I know! Let's keep the walls as-is! It's trendy and no one else will do it!" Nope, the reason why no one else did it was because those walls were ugly! It might have looked good if the patchwork had a pattern, but it was literally "patchwork" and looked terrible. I know that ultimately the decision was the couple's to make but Ty did his share of steering them towards ugly. I really liked the rope weaved into the stair railings that they did in the living room challenge but the whole effect was ruined by how tacky and raggedy the banisters and railings were attached and that was on the team.
Now that I think of it, does Ty have any design credentials? I normally see him hosting things. I mean, both Alison and Kandiya have a solid design background, would be more fair if they got someone like Jasmine Roth or David Bromstead to be the third mentor.

I've always seen Ty as a carpenter, not a designer. Definitely not impressed with his guidance on this show...and as a carpenter he shouldn't have let those loose railings slip by.
I have my issues with Alison but at least she knows design.

Good Bones Season 6 Episode 4 - Bringing in the Buyers - July 20, 2021
I think the big shocker for this episode was that they had contracted buyers. I have been watching this show from the very start and this is the first time ever three episodes in a row they had dedicated buyers or renters for the homes, the real estate market is crazy even in Indianapolis.
I do miss Karen as she was very articulate and had a point of view that really carried the Mina/Karen narrative through the episode. Normally I like seeing the other cast members but the episode feels a little flat.
I have noticed that on the condo episode and on this one that the air conditioning units are all in cages as if there is a problem with AC units being stolen.
I like that they put a new roof on both the house and the garage.
Luv the house colors, the ladies are always spot on in their colors, and they also painted the garage. I have noticed that at times other flippers/developers are not so detailed orientated.
Do any of the home owners ever use the basements for storage? They always look like a damp mess to me.
I did like that the unfinished portion of the attic could be used for future expansion or for storage. I do wonder however how finished the unfinished portion of the attic has to be? I would think it would have to be partially insulated else it would be a total energy suck all year round.
I do appreciate that the ladies always try to make each house they do a bit different and do not stick to just plain white subway tile in the kitchen and bathrooms.
I like they tried something different regarding the island. I have always liked that the ladies use local craftsman in their builds.
Did anyone else notice that this house was on the same street as the fourplex condo from last week and that next to the condo was one of their completed duplex townhouses? Looks as if the ladies own that street.

Looks as if the ladies own that street. This is a big problem, especially in a lot of urban areas. I'm not sure if it's people stealing them for shady developers or landlords for profit or they steal them for the metal and other components inside. I'm thinking it's a combination of both, or even an "off the truck" special you can buy for your own home if you have connections. Hell, a good friend of mine lives in surburbia and had her unit stolen shortly after they bought their home and replaced the old unit, and yes, she got a wire enclosure when they had to replace the stolen one.

I have my issues with Alison but at least she knows design. Wow, you are so right. He is a carpenter, he knows what building codes are and to let a potential hazard like that left unchecked is a huge glaring mistake. But where do you draw the line at mentoring someone or taking over the project. This is one reason why I do have a problem with flippers, they are so blind to doing it right vs making money quickly. Also with Alison on her series, Windy City, they have shown her doing electrical walkthroughs, etc .... so we know she has knowledge of the building process versus Team Ty who can lay wood floors but do they care if the subfloor is OK?

Christina on the Coast - were those really green cabinets I saw last night? I can't say I loved the layout with the peninsula but at least it wasn't all white/black/gray. And if you're redoing the whole bathroom but leave a boring, rectangular builder's grade mirror on the wall? Boo. I can't imagine wanting three stupid TVs on the wall, though. I guess they really love their sports.

Christina on the Coast Season 3 Episode 7 - Home Run Reno - July 22, 2021
A couple buys a home and want to renovate it before they move in. They already demo'ed the bathroom but stopped realizing they need some professional help.
I did like that Christina did listen to the couple in regards to their passion for sports, and that they like to host game nights and had 3 TV's in the family room and one in the kitchen.
I must commend Christina's design choices from last night's episode where she did a two tone kitchen cabinets green for the base and wood for the uppers. A bold choice followed of course by white countertops, white picket style tile (very similar to subway tile) for the backsplash and white grout. Spectacular choice, so bold. What astounded was that Christina gave the homeowner the choice or white subway tile for the bathroom, either matte finish or shiny, either in a stacked pattern or brick. The out of the box design choices are just so hard for me to wrap my mind around. I am simply stunned and all done for $87,000.00.

I guess they really love their sports. Missed the mirror, must have been due the fact my vision was blurred from staring at the pattern on the tile floor. The look of utter disgust on the wife's face was funny when "green" cabinets where suggested. My jaw did hit the floor when the wife exclaimed how she had never seen the picket style tile for the kitchen backsplash and how unique it was. Does any client on this series ever watch HGTV? Is there a subway tile variant Christina has not used yet or shown to a client?

I looked up the Tennessee farmhouse she bought - it's cute. I have to laugh at her wanting goats and chickens, though, when she screeched like a banshee on Flip or Flop when they found chickens in the backyard one time. Stacked white subway tile and plain white picket tile are "high design," don't you know?

Here's something that isn't cool at all. So much for me giving him credit and thinking he's matured some after divorcing Christina.
Anon sources at this show have been posting for years about his verbal abuse of her behind the scenes. You should not be wishing that the mother of your children will fail in life. I stopped watching their "Flip or Flop" shows after the first season because of the way he talked to her and his obvious glee at getting "deals" on foreclosed houses and it's sad to see that my instincts were right on the money, especially after watching F or F: Las Vegas; the obvious love and respect Bristol has for Aubrey is a blatant contrast to how Tarek treats Christina. She's not a loser either; there's been 4 seasons of "Christina on the Coast" so far so someone is watching and enjoying it. I'll also like to say that Ant and her new man look nothing like Tarek unlike his fiancee; how you can compare your new to your ex when they are a clone of each other is laughable. Yes, she is high maintenance, high strung, and a bit much but she doesn't deserve to be treated this way. He needs help for his obvious anger issues and she needs to stay away from him.
On a more serious note, if you know you are at "b***h-eating crackers" level with someone (it's when you can't stand someone so much every little thing they do irritates you, no matter how benign) maybe it would be best that you not have a show together? Christina has a popular show by herself, and Tarek had a show as well, no need for "Flip or Flop" now.

Wow, what a douchebag. I understand being concerned about the toad venom thing, but screeching at your ex in front of the crew isn't the most mature way to express that.
And people who are truly "winning" don't demean others.

And people who are truly "winning" don't demean others. The win at all costs attitude I see in some folks is almost psychotic. That is why I don't like Josh (ex football player) on Team Ty on Battle of the Beach. Instead of taking pride in working hard, honing your skills, and doing well, and in the process being successful (translate to winning). This win, win, win attitude by any means with no prisoners taken is unhealthy, potentially insane behavior, and I am sure not good for any kind of relationship. I do think both Christina and Tarek are competitive and I do think their relationship was toxic but if this report is accurate Tarek needs some serious therapy.

Fixer Upper aired it's pilot in 2013 and aired it's first full season in 2014.

Now Tarek is "super remorseful." Yeah, okay. Tarek El Moussa is 'Super Remorseful'No, they are certainly not Chip and Joanna. I never liked him much - everything Christina did or said on Flip or Flop seemed to get an eyeroll and a huff from him. I've always been a bit more sympathetic towards her for some reason. Even if I don't love her design skills. Wow, that article makes him sound even worse because it confirms that he does this to her frequently and the crew just separates them and shoots them separately when it happens.
This had as much to do with her toad-smoking as that gun he pulled on her that time and then left the house to supposedly think, "but I took the gun with because of the wild animals in my neighborhood" because he never mentioned it throughout the entire rant. Instead, there were:
- comparisons to his fiance - what a loser she is - likes to watch her fail - he created her - he is winning, dammit - oh yeah, she's crazy too
Toad venom didn't come up once, and considering how it was TMZ who broke this if he had mentioned it they would have had it in the article. The only reason why he is "remorseful" this time is that instead of an insider leaking this online at gossip sites the big guns (TMZ, People, etc) picked up the story and it spread everywhere instead of just being in the corners of the web.

Battle on the Beach - Episode 3 - Battle of the Bedrooms - July 25, 2021
The teams must renovate the master bedrooms, and as a second challenge a ground floor guest bedroom. There are two twists, the teams need to keep the paneling in the master bedrooms, and the guest room is a communication challenge where the teams have 5 minutes to design the room and then one of the team members talk/communicate to their carpenter for 5 minutes and who has to complete the guest bedroom per the instructions given. They are given 5 days to finish.
Josh & Shonnie - Team Ty - I really dislike their design style and craftsmanship, which is very sloppy and unfinished. I also dislike Josh's attitude and how he communicates and some of his time management. They decide to vault their ceiling. OK, there was a lot of structural work we did not see, and it didn't looks as if any insulation was used. Shonnie decides to staple some cheap (her works) bamboo fencing to the ceiling to add something. If it was done in panels, or framed with wood strips it could have looked good but to my eye it looked sloppy, very sloppy, especially against the antique wooden doors they used to access the bathroom. Not a fan of the concrete feature wall either.
Josh at the last minute decided to do a DYI project and went and picked some ferns tied them into bundles and hung up in the rooms and of course by the time Mike and Mina were there to judge the room they had wilted and they also had a strong, pungent odor that neither of the judges liked. What I didn't like was that some of the hangings in that guest room were crooked and it make the overall design look sloppy.
There guest bedroom was better but how it related to the bedroom design I don't know.
Kerry & David - Team Tanyinah - I think this team killed it on both rooms. Kerry and David have a cohesive color palette and design style that shows in each room. The rooms look like they belong to the same house. I liked the wooden slats and barn door in the guest room, their carpenter did an amazing job. Kerry and David are also careful and NOT sloppy in their craftsmanship.
Sunjay & Darryl - Team Alison - I also like this team and thought their bedroom would win as their feature wall looks fabulous but the paint job was sloppy. In a rush??? There guest room actually looked better then their master bedroom but they forgot to tell the carpenter to do the floor and that took time away from repainting the master bedroom feature wall. Time management issues?
There was a $3000 dollar prize for the winner this week.
Mike and Mina could not decide on an overall winner so they split the prize money.
Shonnie and Josh won for their master bedroom. Yuck.
Kerry and David won for their guest bedroom. Well deserved.
