The new season premieres in the UK Tuesday Sep. 13th. Usually that means each episode would be on Netflix the following Friday, but Netflix hasn't announced a premiere date in America yet. If you click on the tweet below, the thread includes info on each new baker... Here's the UK trailer for the new season:

I didn't think so. I've had seasons 5 and 6 for a while (only season 6 is availble on Netflix) and I was entertained. Season 5 may be a little better than 6. But some of the kids have surprising skills. The major differences are that more things get dropped on the floor, and there's more crying.
Harry Hill is interesting as the comic host, although he sometimes forgets he's around kids with his remarks. (But rarely)
I wish they made more seasons available.

The level of talent!

We thought the kids were adorable. Even MrCoz was watching it with me. I wish more seasons were on Netflix.

I haven't looked...are the "other" series on You Tube? I no longer subscribe to Netflix.

YouTube doesn't allow full episodes of the Bake Off shows. You have to do deeper, more nefarious searches to find things. PBS doesn't carry any seasons on their website anymore either. On Netlflix, Junior Baking Show only has Season 6 (2021). Netflix has "Collections 5-9" of regular Baking Show - all seasons with Noel. All the Mel & Sue seasons are gone... There are 4 recent seasons of Holiday Baking Show specials too.

If you're at the Roku Channel site (or using the app on your Roku stick or box), I just searched "baking" and a long list of shows came up but all the GBB franchises were near the top.

"Really, if you are interested in viewing the early seasons of GBBO find the 2012 - 2017 years on ROKU. The first season filmed, the tent is in a field in the middle of a village and Sue gives us a history lesson each episode. The production is not as slick. Paul and Mary wander around during the technical bake - though lack of recipe instruction is familiar and the blue Gingham table cloth with blind tasting. This feels different, yet familiar. And yes, they still forget to place the last raspberry on the opening credit cake. Drives me nuts. Cheerio!
Edit: In the 2012 Season they take a journey, literally, as they move the tent from town to town. Twice they've set up in parking lots and people have lined up at the screen windows to watch. Fascinating. So when they say, "one of you will not be continuing with us on this journey" they mean it.
Can't wait to see if they continue this in 2013 season.

For a while (before they scrubbed the Mel/Sue years entirely), Netfliz showed those first 2 seasons as "GGBS: The Beginning" (or something like that)

I started watching season 1 episode 1 on the Roku Chanel I had only seen season 1 on YouTube and the quality of the video was very bad. The picture on the Roku Chanel is very clear and fills the entire screen. Forgot they were eliminating 2 people per episode.

Was this 2012-2017? There was only one per show except one time on that first series.

The very first 2 seasons of Bake Off were in 2010/2011. The first season to be shown in the US was actually season 3 (2012). This is why the season numbering on PBS and Netflix was/is confusing.
The first 2 seasons were as you descibed above, with the travelling tent, and with more history of baking segments thrown in. Season 3 had settled on the formula we're all familiar with now.

There is a male narrator and he states that each episode will be in a different location. Checked the GBBO wiki and I am watching season 1 from 2010, that page has a picture of the bakers and I recognize them all.

The Netflix start date for the new season has been announced! It's Friday, September 16th. Thanks! Nothing like waiting till the last minute, Netflix! Did they lay off the entire promo department? So episodes will air the Friday after the Tuesday that they are shown in the UK, as usual.

The early seasons have 2 to 3 Masterclasses and a revisit episode to see where everyone is after the show aired.
I had watched seasons 1 and 2 on Youtube but watching it now of the Roku Channel there is so much that was cut out of those YouTube versions.

I love how everyone is in Star Wars cosplay and then you have Prue dressed as herself, lol. Or is she supposed to be a stylish Chewbacca?

Yes, in the intro of the season premiere (90 minutes!), she is more clearly visible (and heard) as Prue-bacca.
