Spring Baking Championship - I laughed so hard - Arin really keeps the comedy flowing and some of the editing is right on. All the desserts looked wonderful and apparently tasted great. It took the lack of a head to lose the challenge.
Tournament of Champions - so Guy Fieri based. He is not a fan of women chefs so for two to be in the finale really stuck it to him. I do love that a non-Food network, non Guy games chef won the truck. I mean a truck...he was really thinking a male would win. It was fun though to see chefs from Top Chef in the mix of Food Network regulars (Guy Fieri).

I was rooting for Antonia; it broke my hear to see her crying after her loss. After that, I was literally "Anyone but Brooke" (with a nod to Maneet) and then...that happened.
I have never heard of Guy being biased against women chefs.

I heard it in passing in that at least one time he asked the producer on DDD if the chef was female and didn't like the answer.
That was hearsay, one instance, so probably wrong. I enjoy his shows and haven't noticed any bias on them. I sort of cringed with his expressions when his bros were eliminated.
Brooke was "cold" wasn't she? When Justin was asking about her process, she snubbed him. Yeah, I would have preferred Antonia, but Brooke was a favorite of mine from Top Chef so I was okay with her win.

Spring Baking Championship - they were being silly again last night. I didn't even know you could make a "flour" out of Brazil nuts (my least favorite nut), never mind bake with it. I hate that the guy who tried a fancy technique got the boot because of it.

Well, his fence wasn't holding and since they were ALL delicious once again, it was his time.
I'm so enjoying this season for the silliness you mentioned. I watched it in real time rather than with breakfast so I am truly into the show this go-around.

I would never dream to substitute pecan flour for almond in macarons but apparently it's delicious? I'll have to remember that.
So glad Tati won the main heat; her trifle was beautiful. I've really been liking the challenges this year.
In all honesty, Aris should have stayed. Despite the whack appearance of his dessert it was delicious. I like Sohrob, but the earl grey tea in his dessert tasted burnt, and it looked more like a fall dessert instead of spring.

All this time I thought a crumble and a crisp were the same thing. Some of those flower crown cakes were flat out gorgeous in the second round - I hate that Christine (was that her name?) was sent home, but the sides of that cake were a hot mess. And I might be in the minority, but I never did like "naked" cakes. Put that frosting on there!

Christina's cake had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at it! She would have been okay if she showed restraint, but she went into "Use...all the tools!" mode and her cake looked a mess, lol. Sohrob lives another day!

She had such lovely tools available. I don't think she used that many of them, they judged Sohrob's creation better.

No ma'am. Tati should have went home tonight, not the other lady. I know her seahorse looked like the Loch Ness monster but at least she tried, plus her cookie/tres leche thingy was delicious and her "pool" was 2-dimensional. Tati didn't even try; her "feather" looked sloppily done and the pool looked like something leaked on the plate.
Sohrab finally brought it out this week as his flamingo cake both looked and tasted delicious.
I'm really enjoying Aran and his description of the swan going SPLAT in the water made me laugh. His lil cakes were cute and also seemed like they tasted really good as well. I'm glad he also made the Final 3.

Tati was in a mood last night, for sure. Her floatie dessert was pitiful, but that seahorse was pretty sad too. I wouldn't have minded Tati going home instead, her attitude the last few shows hasn't been fun.
The swans were adorable, I just wish it didn't look like a crime scene on the plate!

If I remember, Aron said Tati was always direct in critiquing the others' desserts.
Ah, I didn't realize there was still a homebaker in the competition. Sorry she went home.

Amy Schumer and her husband, a chef, have a new show line up for Sundays starting in mid May called, Amy Learns to Cook.
There is also a Celebrity Worst Cooks and I think I saw (for Bachelor fans) Wells Adams is in the lineup.

Spring Baking Final: Congrats, Sohrab! I wanted to taste his cake as the judges loved it; they described it as like eating a strawberry shake which sounds scrumptious. In a lot of ways it was Tati's title to lose. Her cake was beautiful and the best of the three but tasted gummy. Poor Aran...I had no idea where he was going with his cake design.

From seemingly perennial bottom three to winning it all! Congrats, Sohrab! He was really able to find a narrow theme (strawberry milkshake) and make it work. All three had charming cakes.

What was really weird the first two weeks he actually either won heats or was at the top and then he stumbled into the bottom for a while. He bounced back nicely last week and this one, so I'm happy for him.

I was rooting for Arin, but he went all crazy on that last cake. I sorta get what he was going for, but it wasn't spring-y at all. Congrats to Sohrab, sounds like that strawberry cake of his was the best tasting thing ever!

Aran got screwed with the prom date...he wasn’t “springy” attired at all, whereas Tati and Sohrab’s were totally spring.
Tati may have lost but she is a beautiful decorator. Her flowers...gorgeous.

Also, Arin's macarons did not come out so good and that might of hurt him. But, yes, how was he going to make that springy?? Add flowers?

There is also a Celebrity Worst Cooks and I think I saw (for Bachelor fans) Wells Adams is in the lineup. I was mildly interested and then saw a preview of the show where she spits out a chunk of food on her kitchen countertop. I don't know if that's supposed to be part of her "relatable" persona but it really turned me off from watching it.

Watched the new Martha Stewart Bakeaway Camp show last night and it was really good! All the contestants are likable and the tasks are fun. Carla Hall and Dan Langan are also there to guide the contestants and judge. Definitely worth a watch.
I think I lasted 3 minutes into Amy Learns to Cook before I changed the channel. I'm sorry, but she is a charisma void.

I enjoyed Martha's Bakeaway Camp, I'll keep that on the watch list.
Amy Learns to Cook, however...meh. I had it on as background noise while I did some housework, and while I don't mind off color jokes, she's just always fallen flat for me. I appreciate the network trying to put some new content out, but she's not a draw.

Kela was so adorable on Bakeaway Camp when she won the personal lesson from Martha - I thought she was about to burst into tears, she was fangirling so hard. All those yellowjackets would have driven me nuts, never mind trying to bake outdoors in the heat. I don't know how they could stand it. I didn't even bother with Amy Schumer's show this week. Bleah.

She is so adorable with her love for Martha. I was glad when she won because you could really tell it meant a lot to her other than just winning a challenge.

Questlove's Potluck comes on tonight at 10e, 9c! He's going to have a variety of HGTV/Food Network/TV and Movie star guests on the show and it sounds like a lot of fun!
"The special will have Questlove virtually bringing together some of his friends, who are all sheltering in place in their own homes. Guests will be cooking, sharing and eating some of their favorite dishes, drinks and delights. Expect to see these being served in the home kitchens of Bun B., Hannibal Buress, Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott, Ashley Graham, Tiffany Haddish, Patti LaBelle, Eva Longoria, George Lopez, Kenan Thompson, Tariq Trotter, Gabrielle Union, Olivia Wilde, Roy Wood Jr., with more names to be announced."
I wonder if he's finally going to get some food from Patti Labelle. It's been a running joke for years (and someone actually made a cartoon about it!) how whenever he bumps into Patti she always talks about all this amazing food she's going to cook for him, only for it to never to happen, lol!

That was a pretty cake on Bakeaway, I'm happy he won. I'm not big on the "naked" cakes, but the one the woman did was pretty nice...until she put that odd black heart on the side. She sorta lost me at the end when she was crying about how she deserved to win, too. I felt bad for the younger guy who had issues with his ganache clumping because of the cold, it looked awful on his cake. I can't remember the name of the upcoming show they previewed - Big Bake something? Everyone had to do cookies, cupcakes, and a cake in one big timed round. Looked good, even though I've seen half the contestants on other shows.

I am surprised that the Food Network misjudged Amy's popularity. I have not heard a good word about the show and all those non fans said that they never found her amusing. He husband, though, should work on his own.

Everything about that show is a turnoff. The spitting, the horrible promo picture where she's scowling as she's holding the knoves above her head...all of it.
