Wondering if we'll ever hear why Queen Elizabeth died. I don't expect we will. Seems she never bounced back after presumably contracting COVID from Charles. But there were also tests done during a hospital stay last October (pre-COVID diagnosis) and mobility issues after/during her bout with COVID, so maybe something rather serious was going on. Could've even been a broken heart from losing her husband. "old age"Seems as though contracting COVID really took the spunk out of her. The certificate states that she died at 15:10, and as we know, it was announced at 18:30. Only Anne, Camilla and Charles made it there before she passed.

I think that calling Queen Elizabeth's cause of death "old age" was just a way to give the world a benign, natural, easy-to-accept reason for her death. In actuality, her death was caused by some medical issue(s) that she had, that probably weren't necessary for the public to know about. I wonder whether her death was really caused (or exacerbated) by her COVID infection, and how the infection affected her body. (Do we know if she had the "long COVID" after effects, after her illness was over?) To me, it seemed that she really never regained her health and strength after having COVID and it might very well have been one of the causes of her death. My own mil was ill, but at the end she had a stroke. I do believe covid took a lot out of her. It doesn't matter to me what she died of, she's gone. A well deserved rest, with Philip.

I really doubted we'd ever find out as she was afforded far more privacy than a US President, that's for sure. Not that I think that's a bad thing, just vastly different. This " new official photo" is quirky. Charles has his hand in his pocket? And all of their arms look doctored in, like they were photographed separately and then pieced together.

Has anyone watched Banished: The Prince Andrew Story on Peacock? As if he could look any worse than he already does. There are interviews with palace insiders, journalists, people who knew him AND his own words from that horrid interview from, I think, 2019.
It's worth the watch just for the number of people who insult him

People were mentioning the bruising on her hand. It is interesting because I recently saw again one of the last pictures taken of Betty White and I noticed bruising on her left hand just like the Queen.

My mom often bruises on her hands or arms, and hers is due to the blood thinners she takes.

Yep, my mom is perfectly healthy at 85, but she bruises like a peach and her skin is so delicate now. What on me would be a simple scrape, takes her weeks to heal from and it looks horrible.

My arms bruise all the time and my skin is so fragile a small bump on something will tear it. It's just age.

I noticed the purple bruising on QE2's hands when I saw pictures of her greeting the new Prime Minister. I figured it was from IV's or blood draws. I've had that happen to me from both.
It's hard for the nurse to get a proper vein from me, when trying to do a blood draw. I've had to have them stab through the back of my hand, causing what looks like bruising. Also, I was in the emergency room a few years back & had to have an IV put in to rehydrate me. They went in through the back of my hand. It also left a bruise.
When I saw the bruise on the Queen's hand I automatically figured that was what it was from. We all knew she wasn't doing well. Drawing blood or having a saline IV put in wouldn't be all that surprising.

Watched the Prince Andrew documentary on Peacock. Last night. Poor Elizabeth - to have a favored child who is more than a disappointment. He's a pedo sex addict.

I don't believe a parent should ever favor a child. It never turns out well and it's just not right.

FM -it was just a re-hash of the good (Falklands war hero) the bad (privilege leveler) and the ugly (women/Epstein). He came off as the definition of rich, white privilege (without being actually rich).

Take note, Harry.

I wonder if Harry’s awareness of what it’s like to be the “spare” from a financial perspective plays into what he and Meghan are doing to build their financial life here. We hear a lot about their other motivations, but that has to be part of it, too.
Wasn’t their original proposal to be able to work part-time as royals while having their own financial projects on the side? (I realize that, as Andrew and Fergie have proved, there’s a huge potential for conflict of interest when doing that; so I’m not surprised that the queen said no.)

I've always heard there are two sides to every story and the truth lies in the middle. Funny how these sayings vary in different areas. Me too. Plus, as time passes, things are remembered differently. The Oprah interview, which I think they both regret( because honestly, what's left) but things were proven, not to be true at all. Dame Judi Dench suggested The Crown on Netflix come with a disclaimer, because people were taking it as the truth.. Netflix has decided to do that. I find parts of it to be quite cruel. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/oct/20/netflixs-the-crown-cruelly-unjust-for-leaving-off-accuracy-disclaimer-says-judi-denchI feel the same about a tell all book. But, it's Harry's life.
