Cuddles I think you’re right and it was taped on Thursday after yesterday’s show. Timing wise, if that was done they’d know about the first lady’s trip, but info about the jacket had not come up yet. It’s not uncommon for them to pregame Friday shows, and I think they did that. Paula not being there is another clue it wasn’t live.

Do they mainly just talk negative on this show about the president lately? I hope it's not like the huffington post, that's a terrible site.

Apparently it's not unusual for these shows to pre-tape Friday or Monday shows so they have 3 days off for the weekend. It seems to also happen with The Talk and Ellen DeGeneres. Often, Ellen will make a joke about the Monday audience looking "so much better" than the Friday audience (and, of course, they all laugh at the joke) when, in reality, it's the same group of people who attend both shows.
I, too, was hoping the jacket would be discussed. Yesterday, Jenna Ortega from Stuck in the Middle was seen wearing an "I Do Care and U Should Too" jacket at the Radio Disney Music Awards. Loved it!

lol @ analyzing every movement that some celebrities and policitical figures do. Some of these public figures seem to have too much time on their hands. Whoopi and Joy are tough to watch at times, like their heads seem they are about to spin around like the exorcist movie.

You are correct, it was yesterday's program that I was referring to. They had great conversations about the jacket Melania wore to and from a TX facility, the Red Hen restaurant debacle with SHSanders, and the cover of the most recent Time magazine. I haven't had a chance to see today's yet but I will try to go and do that now. I am SUPER disappointed to hear that Meghan was back on her soap box. What is that girl thinking?! You're right, it is getting old. So old that it's growing moldy.

I don't watch the show, but I know how Meghan feels. I am the sole liberal in a very conservative family, and when they start talking politics, I find myself accidentally rolling my eyes and getting strident when they say some of the things that sound normal to them but that are totally outrageous to me. It gives me empathy for how it must feel to be the only conservative in a liberal group. Actually, in their defense, it's only one or two that say really outrageous things. Most of the time we are able to have civil discussions, just like when things are peaceful on The View. But when things get crazy, I tend to react, so I feel Meghan's pain.

Her "pain" is self-inflicted and she's heavily compensated. Seeing her act like she did on today's program really makes me wonder. She wouldn't even acknowledge that the Supreme Court said the 3rd ban while constitutional is not good policy. I'd never heard the phrase "intellectually correct" until she arrived. Now I never want to hear it again. She uses it every time she gets sassy!

Such classy comments by Maxine Waters They addressed that. That's why I liked what Sarah said, and what she said about Sanders being asked to leave a restaurant. They were all a bit testy this morning, because of a ruling by the supreme court...

As expected, Meghan was in a tizzy today. She needs to have enough sense not to take on Whoopi because she's alienated just about everyone else. She's like nails on a chalkboard to me, and I wish she would get over the need to keep pointing out how she's different than everyone else on the panel. Yes Meghan, we know that. It's obvious from listening to your opinions, as well as your whining about it pretty much every day.
Is it just me, or did anyone else think Michael Douglas seemed to have a difficult time forming words? It sounded like he was slurring his pronunciation. Does he have a health problem?

It would not surprise me if Michael Douglas has some lasting impact on his speech from the treatment he underwent for oral cancer.
With Megan - yes, she does point out how she's the lone conservative too often and it's annoying. But I give her credit for respecting the opinions that differ from her, and not judging others as people for holding differing points of view. From things they've said in passing I get the impression that she and Joy have formed a geniuine friendship even though they are so different ideologically, and I like that in both of them. On the other hand, Sunny really turned me off in the friday discussion about Trump admin officals being kicked out of restaurants. She showed a side of her in dismissing an entire person for thinking different that really turned me off. I'll take Megans "I'm different" any day over Sunny's "If you're not like me, you're bad".

Meghan starts her spiel with a 'I said it when I first started here and I was right, glad you all see it now' comment. What is she thinking? Is that any way to have a respectful conversation? And then she calls out Whoopi not once but twice, the second time telling her her comment was a cheap shot. Along the lines she also said it was a great day for Republicans. Really? The UN just called us out because the number of impoverished is spiraling under this administration. What else is spiraling? The national debt! There are satellite images out today showing us that North Korea is upgrading one of their nuclear facilities. We have videos of children begging to be reunited with their mothers, so tearful that they are barely functioning. And DT proclaimed again this morning that he doesn't think Russia meddled in our last election. What kind of great day is that for anyone, Meghan? Don't get ahead of yourself, no one has voted anyone in to that Supreme Court opening yet. Hurray for Sara that she set the record straight - if the Republicans cared so much about children, they should have started with the ones they stole from their parents. And I thought Joy was so on point with her view about not only this country but the entire world that I wanted to plant a big kiss on her cheek. I truly hope that she knows that there are a lot of us out here in TV land that support her thoughts and share in her concerns. I feel badly she's been heckled out on the streets.

I couldn't get over Michael Douglas looking so well, and Kirk is 101! Joy looked sour this morning, I do wish she'd let Meghan finish the same with Whoopi, MM was trying to make the point about why Italy and other countries don't want illegals pouring in. We took in refugees, some still don't have jobs, and our homeless has gone up, as well as our cost of living..

I just listened to the Supreme Court discussion. I like that even though they showed their passion both Whoopi and Megan had a give and take and showed respect to each other. I do think that on the subject of abortion, Megan did a much better job of showing understanding to to the other point of view than Whoopi did. Megan can argue the point while respecting where the pro-choice side is coming from. Whoopi does a great job of making her point, but cannot acknowledge that pro-lifers see the issue entirely different and therefore are not persuaded.

I can understand being pro life , that's fine for oneself , but i'm pro choice for anyone else..don't tell me what I can and can't do with my body.. Like Whoopi, I know illegal abortions

No, it's not her age. I want to be careful in how I say this because I know that at times the veil of the show is used in this thread for a political debate, and i"m not looking to debate abortion. That said, she expressed herself quite well. For Megan, it's a matter of viewing a fetus as a human life, and ending that life is murder. There are many good reasons for not agreeing with that ideology, but it's a legitimate point of view nonetheless. For a person like Megan who views the issue that way, talking about things like my body my choice fall short, because they are not answering to what keeps her from supporting it. She can answer to Whoopi's concerns and explain why she doesn't agree. I have not seen a lot to think that Whoopi can do the same.

I agree with that. However, there are women Whoopi's age who see the issue in the same way that Megan does.
On a totally different subject, for all the talk we do here about the women on the show that irritate each of us, I have to say what a breath of fresh air Sarah is on this show. I love her! I really liked Paula and was sorry when she was reduced to one day a week, but I think I like Sarah even more. She finds such a great balance in inserting silly comments to lighten the mood, speaking with passion about things that really matter to her, and just inserting a point of view when appropriate. She speaks with knowledge on many subjects, but will also admit when she doesn't know about something. i really really like her as part of the panel!

Over the course of this week, Sara said Melania needed "hell no" people around her, the she would have protested with the others against McConnell only several more feet back but with a louder voice, and that this administration should've shown they cared about children by not taking them away rather than by being all up in her uterus, or however she phrased it. All anti-Trump comments yet we (at this thread, with differing political views) can all collectively agree that she makes the most sense and has the most impact.

I don't recall her being the first but she definitely made a great point that there is a difference between harassment and protesting and that the best way to get your point across is by voting. (As someone who is concerned about her brother's rights, she's repeatedly brought that up, which I also admire.)

Sunny just wants to make sure that we all exercise our constitutional rights. With her background, that makes sense to me.
I'm sure it's not easy for her to disagree on these things, she likely sees value in both sides of the argument, but she feels it is her calling to remind us that we do not want to become a suppressed society.
