Yeah, way too much case presentation. I really like the way Gibb's handwriting was disproved, but...the writer says Rule 10 was written on a keyboard with a cursive font. It is too regular to be a human hand. I think Ziva and Tony and Talia are staying safe as best they can. The one thing that bothers me is that the landlady could have seen Ziva when she returned to tear the page and leave the note.My theory is that she already knows! How else would she have heard that Ziva "died"? None of the team knew about that place to tell her. I know, she could have read an obituary, but I like my theory better

I don't think the landlady tore out the page, but, I agree that she probably knew all along that Ziva was alive. I had thought once that perhaps Ziva was burned, possibly disfigured, and was in hiding, protected by Mossad, but if that were the case (disfigured), she would Not have read that letter to the bad guy. (As he would have noticed and mentioned it to Ellie).
I did like that Ziva, being a perfectionist, completed the job by getting to the bad guy first. Oh heck, I'm just glad she is alive. Whenever the series ends, I hope they wrap a bow around a Tony, Ziva and Talle appearance.

They won't, but I do like that they've added to the fans' imagination. Now fanfic can be more specific to that relationship.

Wasn't the notebook always in NCIS' possession? I don't understand how Ziva could have had the opportunity to tear out the page.
I'm not really happy with this development. It's contrived and could just be a tease. Is the actress willing to come back, with Weatherley gone?

The show last night 2/19 was also very light and good. It focused on Tim and we learned more about him as a rebellious teenager. I hope they keep it going for awhile before they slam in with another hard line bridge of terror with extreme sorrow.

For the third week a show spotlighting a main player - this week Esposito (?) anyway...he of the too tight t-shirts. The tie back to the bombing of the headquarters was intense. I didn't realize that was six season's ago...how time flies. The writing is showing more depth and seems better than the last few seasons. Makes me happy. From the previews, I think Jimmy is up next.

Jimmy's episode featured his father-in-law and poker with the elder DiNozzo. I felt so bad for highly moral Jimmy having to make a choice. This was as much fun as the three previous episodes featuring different members of the team.

Ducky will need a secretary. He can talk endlessly, and I'm guessing that is how he would go about this. Then someone needs to transcribe.

Casey acted as his assistant while he was writing his book; that is how she became a part of the NCIS crew as the new Forensic Scientist. Yes, he'll need someone to organize him.

Who was the guy who let Vance know his boss (Secretary of the Navy?) was after him? CIA? If so, the CIA director?
The emotions behind the scene between Vance and Jack where he's showing off his necklace doesn't match with learning later it was a bug. And why didn't Vance seem to know his computer was switched?

Skullduggery! Too much to wrap my head around; like they didn't have enough time to fully develop it. I barely remember the woman as she hasn't been even mentioned in quite awhile. I doubt he was the Director of CIA, but maybe an Assistant Director. They did start an intriguing line of inquiry to put an arc to end the season, though.
Apparently, the big dog Secretary of the Military (not just Navy) - or whatever he is called - is dirty and the CIA vetted Vance to see if he really is a righteous man and capable of investigating him. What I don't understand, because the story was so long ago, is when did Vance become suspicious of the woman enough to bug the necklace. Yes, they spent a lot of time giving us a long look at it when he showed it to "Can't remember her name". Did she know what he was doing? Too much...and Gibbs just stood there in his long winter coat in the background.
Didn't you love Duckie's new office? He is so precious.

CIA agent Westley Clark and his fellow spy Mallory, were running standard surveillance on Vance after his captivity at the hands of terrorist Hakim. The ruby necklace Vance showed Jack was a beautiful piece of jewelry to hide the fact it was a listening device. (It was meant to be a secret from us until they revealed it to the audience at the end) a teaser for upcoming storyline. Remember when Vance and Gibbs burst in on the Clark/Mallory meeting with the news that the necklace was a listening device. “Never spy on a spy,” Vance says. He knew all along that Mallory was "using" him and allowed it to play out while he and Gibbs did their own investigating. Clark said he carried his surveillance longer than necessary, in order to verify that Vance and his team really are the most trustworthy people in D.C. ....because Clark needs their help.

Supposedly, Clark discovered that U.S. Secretary of Defense Wynn Crawford is sitting on a secret off-shore slush fund with a quarter of a billion dollars in it, and no federal agencies wanted to get involved. Clark, on his own decided to find a team he could trust to investigate......“I think it’s time to run into that burning building,” Clark says. “ He then asked Vance and Gibbs if they would help. The story has been an ongoing subplot, (Episode 11) ew.com/recap/ncis-season-16-episode-11/but the tips have been discreetly revealed in small tidbits since the beginning of the season, I think. Discreetly enough that we could forget it was even there. I knew at some point that Wynn Crawford was up to something. I just don't know yet if I trust Clark... remember when Crawford approached him about wanting access to all of the surveillance on Vance? Crawford invited Clark to dine with him, and the pair were talking while looking at their menus. Crawford ordered Clark to get him all the intel he’s gathered, never specifying a purpose why. I don't know if I even like Crawford, but Is Clark a good guy or not???? Is he working with Crawford? Is this a trick to get back at Vance for the Chlorine gas disobedience from epi 11, or is he really trying to expose Crawford?????

Now that we've had Sloan's backstory displayed, does anyone feel like this is the final season - or leading into the final season - or they've run out of murder of the week and are featuring cast members to fill out the season? Yes, there is still the underlying spy mission, but...

NCIS has been renewed for Season 17, just a few days ago in fact. Yay!
I think the focus on individuals in the team is CBS way of making the series fresh. I like it, and I think I like Gibbs burning some of his rules. It shows growth of character. Will Season 17 be the end? I don’t know. But, Harmon is an executive producer of this series and of NCIS New Orleans.

I'm so confused about Gibbs engagement to this episode's deceased. He and Kelly were still married when he was overseas right after 9/11. It was while he was there that he found out she and the daughter were murdered. Kelly was his first love, so where does this woman fit in if she was killed during the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon? This is so confusing. Help me, MG!

Kelly was actually Gibbs daughter, but I agree, her mother Shannon was the love of his life. Here is what wiki shares as the history of "Gibbs Marriages": Gibbs has been married four times, and divorced three (his first wife was killed). Shannon - In the episode "Heartland", Gibbs is revealed by flashbacks to have met his first wife, Shannon (portrayed in that episode by Aviva Baumann), while waiting at the Stillwater train platform in 1976, where she tells him about her rules for life that would inspire a similar set of Gibbs' own that he now teaches to his subordinate agents at NCIS. In "Hiatus (Part II)", they were stated to have married in April 1982, and Kelly (Mary Mouser) was born in July 1983. He was unable to be at the birth of Kelly as he was deployed.[27] Shannon, along with their eight-year-old daughter Kelly, was murdered by a Mexican drug dealer named Pedro Hernandez on the last official day of Operation Desert Storm. Gibbs was an active member of the Marine Corps at the time and was still overseas when they were killed. In "Hiatus (Part II)" Director Shepard tells Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard that Shannon had witnessed a murder of a Marine at Camp Pendleton, where Gibbs was based at that time. Shannon had identified the murderer as Mexican-born drug dealer Pedro Hernandez. Afterwards, Hernandez shot the NIS agent driving Shannon and Kelly in a minivan and the subsequent crash took their lives. Gibbs retaliated by seeking out Pedro and assassinating him in cold blood, leaving behind an empty shell casing as a message. This secret remained with him for 20 years until it came to light when Abby discovered the truth through a forensic investigation. Diane Sterling (Melinda McGraw), was Gibbs' second wife. After divorcing Gibbs she married FBI Senior Special Agent Tobias Fornell (Joe Spano). However, this marriage was only slightly more positive than her last, and ultimately failed. As she did with Gibbs, Diane drained Fornell's bank account when she left him. Fornell and Diane have a daughter, Emily. In the season 9 episode "Devil's Triangle", Gibbs tells Diane that he liked her—he always liked her, and still likes her. (Diane tells him their marriage fell apart because she was in love with him, but she could not compete with Shannon.)[28] Diane is later shot dead by terrorist Sergei Mishnev (Alex Veadov) during the Season 12 episode "Check". Rebecca (Jeri Ryan), Gibbs' third wife, is introduced in season 12. She and Gibbs divorced because Rebecca cheated on Gibbs and it is revealed in that season's episode 11 that she is marrying the man with whom she cheated on Gibbs. Stephanie Flynn (Kathleen York), Gibbs' most recent wife, also a redhead,[29] lived with him during his service in Moscow, Russia, for about a year. According to Gibbs, she was the one who left him. The reason for this was revealed in the Season 3 episode "Mind Games", where Ducky noted Gibbs became so obsessed with catching serial killer Kyle Boone it incited the collapse of their marriage, which happened no later than 1995, the year Gibbs captured Boone. She is also said in the Season 1 episode, "Hung Out to Dry", to get drunk and dial Gibbs incessantly on the day of their former wedding anniversary, which causes him to aggressively disable or even ruin his phones to shut her out. I believe The "engagement" of ex-fiance, was just prior to 9/11. The season 16 episode "Hail and Farewell" revealed that Gibbs was also engaged to a fifth woman, Ellen Wallace, who was thought to have died in the September 11 attacks, but was murdered the night before; Gibbs broke off the engagement about two months before her death. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leroy_Jethro_Gibbs

Since the news today is so awful (Sri Lanka death toll 200), I thought I would post a heart-warming topic discussed by co-showrunners on Ziva possibly returning in a special arc. My personal thoughts are that this would be a sweet ending to the series, but even if it is addressed sooner; I want that happy ending for Tony and Ziva. tvline.com/2019/04/21/ncis-ziva-alive-returning-season-16-hints/

Argh! I couldn’t figure this out, was the judge presiding over Judge Deakin’s trial at the very end, one of his cohorts in his secret society of murderers? I know they pegged some of the judges, but did NCIS uncover all of the judges?
Since they featured her face at the end.....I’m assuming she was one of his judge members. Which would indicate Judge Deakin will get off the hook somehow. Also, they never uncovered the rest of the money did they?

They really circled back for this story line. Yeah, I was trying to remember if her face was on the monitors when they blackballed Gibbs; there was a woman, but I'll have to re-watch to know.
Two shows left this season. What other threads have been left open? Will this thread continue into next week or will the writers set us up for a season ending with the usual hanger for next season?
The last 2/3 of this season has been fascinating with the focus on the various team members. One they haven't touched on yet is Casey. Will she figure more prominently into the last two episodes?

As far as Gibbs' secret, was that the same murder that Abby knew about? I recall a Latin America government or group asking her to investigate a particular murder and when she realized Gibbs had done it he had to tell her not to let her relationship with him affect what she did with the information.
I really don't want a cliff hanger. Ruins the summer.
