I personally don't care for the character of Jack Sloane and never have. I wouldn't miss her at all if she weren't there. I've seen Maria Bello in other shows and liked those characters, so I know it's not the actress but the role that I don't like. I can't really tell you why since its just a feeling. I didn't like the character from the start and haven't warmed up to her either.

Surely Michael Weatherly, who stars on CBS' Bull despite allegations against him, could drop by for an NCIS cameo to give Tiva fans an exciting way to start the new year, right? Find out when NCIS' "The North Pole" airs with Cote de Pablo on Tuesday, December 17 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, and then what could very well be her final episode ever with the winter premiere on January 7, 2020 in the winter premiere schedule. One thing is now certain, the neighbor is not a romantic interest for Gibbs! Wow, what an episode tonight! I did not see that coming. Yikes! Anyone else think Ziva is Phineas Aunt? Did I mention that I hate the words “ to be continued”? Does Phineas know more than we think he knows?

Actually, the immediate issue is resolved tonight.........but, there is a pause and look on Gibbs face at the end that tells you it’s not over. The usual ending is not there, and you have no clue what happens next, or what awaits Gibbs.

Speculation: What do you think about Phineas being Ziva's nephew, Ari's son? They set up the boy coming down the stairs and Gibbs looking worried because Ziva will recognize Ari in him. As soon as I knew that his mother was an Ari acolyte, I could see Ari in Phineas.
I'm so happy Ziva has reunited with Tony and Talie and will be returning to them.
What do you think about Bishop training with a CIA super-op? That is scary. I mean could she remain with NCIS or have to be mission ready for the CIA?

The look on Gibbs face at the end was the daunting task of what he would tell Phinneas about his mom.
Bishop in training is probably to make her into a Ziva-wannabe. Not what I want for that character.

Since Ziva has one more episode filmed, (the winter premiere of 2020).... I guess Auntie ("if" she is the only living blood relative for Phineas) will take responsibility for this bright and talented boy. I agree with Brooks, I also do not want Bishop going off and doing other CIA stuff. I'm not entirely sure I trust the CIA super-op guy.... although, he probably received a glowing reference from Ziva's landlady. I never liked all the side stuff that Tony was involved with either. However, I'm really looking forward to the January 7th premiere!

I thought the landlady was the super-op who trained Ziva. She tested Bishop to ascertain her moxie, but I really hope Bishop doesn't use the cabin when Ziva leaves, but I see it happening...Bishop is just too curious about the life Ziva had.

I think they were very appropriate as probably because of contract, Tony can't show his face. I loved the growth update from Talia by phone visual. One could imagine Tony was taking the vid. Ziva left in a happy place. Hail and Farwell, Ziva and family.
I'm not at all disappointed that she was not the aunt of Phinneas. He fell into his foster aunt/uncle with love. I do hate seeing Gibbs lose it so fast and so much, though. At least we learned a new piece about Torres in that he took down a child trafficking ring in his undercover days. That gives him more heart and a gravitas.
Ah...Jimmy as confidant. Remember when Tony would run his case problems by him? A touching tribute and acknowledgement from Ziva.
Good end of arc - good show. Onward with new stuff next week.

I loved the show and especially the ending. I’m not sure why Weatherly did not do a cameo, his show Bull is part of the same network (CBS), so I can’t imagine why he couldn’t tape a less then 1 minute video with Tali But, ....... He is a close personal friend of Pauley Perrette, so maybe that had something to do with it. Those twins that play Tali, are just as beautiful and adorable at 6 years, as they were at 2. Well, I guess Elli has decided to do some work with Odette afterall, since Ziva reminded her softly in her farewell. It was a great ending, and I loved the closeness between Jack and Gibbs, she really grounded him and helped him get control of his emotions. Great episode, well done NCIS writers and cast!

I think so, it looked that way at the end. Both looked at Gibbs going down in the elevator. I do believe he thinks of the younger Torres, Jimmy and Ellie more as his kids, than the other NCIS team members. He admitted that in the ICU to the Nurse. If he did, it would have been to protect Ellie from doing it. I wondered at first if she went there to kill him, but found him already dead and left. There was something off about the way she looked when that long strand of blonde hair was found. Anyway, I ended the episode (in my head) with the ruthless girlfriend killing him. I don't like that Ellie would think that way, her character has really changed a lot from the energetic kid sitting cross legged on the floor working constantly on her laptop. It's almost as if they are turning her into a ruthless character and that would be a shame because I have always loved Ellie's vulnerability and humanity. We don't need a Ziva 2.0

We don't need a Ziva 2.0 I agree, I like Ellie how she was. I don't want a revamped version of Ziva. Of course she would change a little because of all she's seen the past several years, but I don't want her to lose the core of who she is. I like Ziva too, but I also like that the two of them are so different.

I agree! We came to know each of them and appreciate what each character brought to the team. Ziva was raised differently than Ellie. Despite that, Ziva brought a fun quality to the team, a little playfulness. Compared to new Ellie, who is more serious and becoming hard emotionally. Watching these changes develop in Ellis is disappointing for me.

Christopher Lloyd deserves an Emmy for his incredible performance on Tuesday NCIS! The scene between Lloyd and Gibbs during slideshow was the best Guest appearance I’ve seen on the show. The entire story.... from creative writing, it’s perfect balance of respectful humor and powerful storytelling, and the performance from entire cast was so just enjoyable! Christopher Lloyd was just so amazing and delightful to watch. Well done! Very touching story, and what a beautiful season finale!

More NCIS News:
Maria Bello is set to exit CBS’ NCIS, after a three-year run on TV’s most watched drama.
Bello joined NCIS for Season 15, as forensic psychologist Jacqueline “Jack” Sloane. Working off of a three-year contract, our sister site Deadline reports, Bello will leave the series eight episodes into the coming season, which is penciled in to premiere sometime this fall.
Bello’s previous TV credits include Goliath, Touch, Prime Suspect and ER.
NCIS’ 17th season fell four episodes short due to the pandemic-related shutdown, and thus ended with Episode 20 guest-starring TVLine Performer of the Week Christopher Lloyd. Episode 21, which was two days away from production, is “probably what we will shoot first [whenever production resumes],” co-showrunner Frank Cardea told TVLine, while the one after that will mark the series’ 400th overall.
“We have a lot of flexibility to air the first five or six episodes [of Season 18] in any order we want,” Cardea noted, “but we will still shoot 400 as the second one and air it as the second one.” (Get details on the Episode 400 storyline.)

They just aired the Christopher Lloyd episode tonight. Brilliant acting, I hope Lloyd is nominated for and receives an Emmy for that performance. I was crying so much, my dog came to me to give me comfort. When he was a puppy, he would check on me for anything, even a cough. Now, he is old, used to our quirks; and just comes when he “feels” we really need it. One of my favorite NCIS episodes.

First impression - weird. Second impression - clever in the mix to a previous story about the band members and the "heavy" instruments.
Fornell has gone round the bend; Gibbs is calm - flip.
So much to unpack and it looks like next week (400th episode) is going to time travel to the way back. SIGH

I also should rewatch the original episode because I can't remember what exactly happened last month on a show much less last year, especially this year. I am definitely going to be confused next week as well.

This one will film episodes pre covid. One has chosen to film post covid. Third will be in the present, and will have episodes revolving around covid. I only know that this one chose to be in the past. I think it would make more sense for all of them to be in the present and wear face shields or masks....but, hope they will stay safe.
